I think you might be in need of a brief history lesson on which party had pro and anti slavery views.

Finish the sentence.... "... and lose even more money". That "volume" argument is a big pile of crap. Shitty management never enters the debate.

Like the 2 watermelon barons. One buys them for 50 cents each. The other sells them 2 for $1... and they decide all they need is a bigger truck.

Ah, yes. Who can forget his landmark domestic legislation - the ACA - which is a total dumpster fire? Or his foreign policy which led to the massive spread of ISIS? Or the largest accumulated debt in US history?

Please, tell us, what were the substantive political accomplishments of this great President?

The reason USPS "loses" money is because congress mandates that it prepays for retiree health benefits 75 years in advance (ie, it is paying for benefits for future retirees that haven't even been born yet, because congress says it has to). The postal service is not funded by taxes. It pays for itself. It is arguably the best-run government agency and the forever stamp was a genius invention. They actually make a profit if not for the insane prepayments.

Do you remember the eight years of obstruction from Republicans during Obama’s term?

What obstruction? Obama got everything he wanted.

Why is the United States Post Office, which is losing many billions of dollars a year, while charging Amazon and others so little to deliver their packages,

If this logic is allowed to continue then , then trump will wage a war to tax Lyft and Uber bc people are using ride share instead of ambulances to get to the hospital.

The market works itself out when a cheaper, less regulated service is established and the government is quick to shut it down because it doesn’t work in Big Brothers self interest.

I think it was that citibank that did a study and found that USPS loses $1.46 on every amazon package they deliver.

Would love to see a link but, if that's true, The Donald is right.

The USPS has been a drain on this country for decades. It's basically a part of the social welfare system these days.

Is the reason the dimocratixes are saying “no” to everything now because of Trump’s skin color?

While I agree with the premise here, I disagree that the Dems understand what he's saying.

Well they understand that there doesn't need to be any legislature for the Wall, it just needs funding. They've already passed enough laws to make the border secure, they've just undermined it. Trump has a lot of leverage here.

Rural America would take the biggest hit by eliminating the USPS. People in rural areas depend on their post offices—UPS and FedEx outsource rural deliveries to the USPS rather than make those out-of-the-way house calls.

So you’re saying those deliveries would stop?

Very possible. UPS/FedEx are not federally mandated to deliver mail to the doors of all US citizens.

You do know that the USPS does not receive taxpayer dollars right?

the politically incorrect truth is that many services that rural people use come at an immense cost that many economists would probably get rid of

Is it worth it to devote resources so 5 people in some tiny village in an isolated part of a state can get mail?

You're talking about much of the flyover part of the country...the part that got Trump elected.

The Postal Service has to borrow shitloads of money from the treasury (taxpayer money) every year to cover their losses, and they never pay it back.

RA’d me for what? Sound like 80% of the board whenever Obama gave a policy speech?

Have you read some of the threads on here, snowflake?
