This is the correct answer.

And he's done other good things too, most of which no one else would have done.

But he's also too willing to step on the Constitution if he can, he's too willing for the government to spend too much money, he's too willing to pick a play out of the socialist playbook if he feels like it on any given day, etc. to be a perfect candidate for me.

The stuff the left has always claimed about his ego and narcissism seems to be true, although I don't really care too much about that because:

1. It doesn't seem to keep him from making the right decisions with regard to foreign policy

2. Every person who could possibly rise to that position has the same issue. The vast majority just hide it better whereas Trump just doesn't care who knows it. He seems proud of it, in fact.

He's got plenty of faults. (But he's not in any "mental decline." That's just retarded.)

And he's still leagues, orders of magnitude, eons better than anything the Democrats have even sniffed at putting up for over a decade now.

If you had told me 20 years ago that the Democrats would run a guy who was showing obvious signs of age related cognitive decline DURING THE CAMPAIGN and would prop him up like Weekend At Bernies for four years, then try to run him AGAIN, THEN kick him off the ticket and replace him with the absolute worst, stupidest, least qualified, least serious, most moronic, candidate to ever run on a major party for the office (and it isn't close), I would have told you to stop being hyperbolic.

The only thing I can imagine that the Democratic Party was thinking with that was, "Hey, it worked out well for us to use Biden as a puppet and for us to really run the office, this idiot is so stupid that we can do it again with her even though she's just very stupid and not in mental decline."

(And before someone accuses me of being sexist, although I think Hilary Clinton is one of the most corrupt politicians to ever breathe the air of D.C., I'll go on record as acknowledging that she's competent and capable and my objection to her being POTUS wouldn't have anything to do with ability.)

I think Democrats have seriously lost their grip on reality. And I'm not just talking about rank and file. I'm talking about leadership. The camouflage ball cap thing is what sealed that opinion in amber for me.

They really thought white men might vote for them if Tim Walz wore a camouflage cap and they filmed him shooting a shotgun.

Everything to them has become polling data. They don't live in the physical world anymore. They live in the Matrix.

That's why they thought running Harris was a good move. "She'll get us the female vote and solidify the black vote."

She was the biggest moron anybody's ever even considered putting at the top of the ticket for either party. But that didn't bother them.

No, what’s causing any angst (I think it’s overstated) is the response to his immigration law enforcement. Previous presidents didn’t have to deal with paid protesters and over-the-top Dem officials threatening those officers directly.
