Predict main political events from now through 2020.

- GOP loses House but maintains Senate in 2018 midterms
- House impeaches Trump on purely political grounds in 2019, leads to backlash which, along with continued economic growth, enables Trump re-election in 2020 (I predict another electoral college victory but popular vote loss against a far left candidate like Kamala Harris)
- GOP retakes House in 2020 election
- Kennedy retires in late 2018, Thomas retires in 2019, both replaced by Gorsuch like justices.
- RBG passes away in office during 2020 igniting a huge firestorm.

I am so tired of this scare tactic, not going to happen.
What the media want you to believe

I hereby officially nominate that as best poli board post of the year.
VERY well done and very succinctly expressed in gifs.

I sure hope you guys are right, but if history is any guide holding the House is going to be a tall order in the midterms. The districts most at risk are in blue states with lots of suburban moms...

House impeaches Trump on purely political grounds in 2019

Off year elections usually harm the party of the president.
But.
Economy is improving. Tax cuts are just starting to put coin in the voter’s pockets, DNC resistance gets them credit for opposing these, Trump’s approval rating is good, MSM status is taking a hit from all the Trump hate and collusion collapse, and congressional generic ballot polls are favoring GOP (very rare).
I’m no Nostradumbass, but I see GOP gains in both houses of Congress.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg 85 lib, Anthony Kennedy 82 swing, Stephen Breyer 80 lib, Clarence Thomas 70 conservative. All can live for many years, and all can die today. Odds are good for a multi decade conservative SCOTUS like liberal 50s-80s one. But to misquote Rev. Wright, don’t count your chickens until they come home to roost.

I think Kennedy already hired law clerks for the 2018-19 term right? So it doesnt look like he's retiring for at least another year.

2018 - Republicans maintain control over both Houses of Congress (with some seats lost in the House).
2019 - One Justice retires from the Court (most likely Kennedy).
2020 - A Republican retakes Alabama's Senate seat currently occupied by Doug Jones.
2020 - Trump's base and middle-class America, tired of the Russia stuff, get him re-elected.

I think Trump would lose to Harris. The only Democratic candidate that I think he would beat - out of those that could realistically run - is the nutjob Senator from my state, Elizabeth Warren. I think long-term the best thing for conservatives like myself would be for Trump to not run or be impeached and then run Kasich because he'd crush any Democrat that would run. Kasich isn't perfect, and I wish he'd be a lot more vocal in his defense of traditional marriage, but with the likely blue wave we'll see in the house and senate, he would be able to help right the ship. Otherwise, my fear is that Trump loses and then we get 8 years of Harris followed by at least 4 more years of an even more socialist/far-left candidate.

You are a lying democrat.

No, I'm a conservative. I just don't like Trump (and I voted for him) because he's not conservative.

GOP maintains majority in House in 2018 midterms
No impeachment of Trump
Mueller indicts Podesta brothers
DOJ indicts HRC
Bill Clinton becomes a born again Christian due to Billy Graham's preaching

I want him over Trump because he would have a better chance of winning a general, and my fear is that if Trumps runs he'll lose and we'll be looking at a decade plus of uber liberals and progressives calling the shots. His approval numbers are declining in most of the 12 swing states, too.
Also, Kasich is one of the most pro-life Governors and has experience balancing budgets and getting a surplus. What legislation has Trump passed that is pro-life and how has he cut down the deficit and balanced the budget? Kasich's track record is more conservative than Trump's.

If you want to win, Kasich is the worst possible pick.
If you don't run Trump, you only win if Trump + 2020 nominee bases are united, and the nominee is supported by Trump.
Does that sound like John Kasich?
