Reports say 164 confirmed dead so far.

USGS estimates between 10K and 100K could have been killed.

If true, the survivors will need a whole lot more than thoughts and prayers.

Iran needs to immediately understand that it's bargaining time just ran out. President Trump has something far more important to devote his time and military to. The humanitarian need in our hemisphere is paramount. The builder and sympathetic nature will take over his thoughts. Iran just became an also ran and best get the best deal it can, while it can. At least that's the way I see it.

In Caracas, a whole hotel is leveled. 100,000 + are anticipated dead per the

. I can’t underestimate the impact this will have on the world.

That is hard to fathom. Even 10K dead is hard to fathom.

I saw someone say 10K people expected to be dead. Is that accurate?

I haven't really followed much about the quakes

ETA: This thread says 100K. I can't imagine that

The devastation in Venezuela is almost unimaginable.

Two powerful earthquakes struck just minutes apart, leaving buildings collapsed, families trapped beneath the rubble, and desperate loved ones searching for survivors.

The U.S. Geological Survey has warned the disaster could ultimately claim between 10,000 and 100,000 lives, though officials have not yet confirmed a death toll. (Reuters)

Please keep the people of Venezuela, the first responders, and every family still waiting for news of a loved one in your prayers.

Not sure what the election & Trump have to do with a massive quake.

Why would we assist in a rebuild?

I thought we were don’t with aid?

No better time to prove that to the word.

We are broke.

May as well pray for them. We know like the algae water the quakes will be blamed on Trump.

If Trump sends aid he is damned, if he doesn't he is damned. It is very geo political.

Because we will credit them to take their oil in exchange.

Don't forget that many refineries in Louisiana and Texas are designed specifically for the heavy crude like what comes out of Venezuela
