I would call him into my office and tell him that if he doesn't pass the fricking bill that I'm going to investigate him for his 2+ million dollars worth of campaign funds "smurfing" and investigate him for insider trading. The guy has made a lot of damn money since being in government
This is the way and I’ve thought it for quite some time. They may threaten to impeach and convict him but he can say not before you’re ruined financially and have spent some time in jail.
Thats why we will eventually get a hardline president from the leftover the right. You need that to break the Marxists. I’d hoped it was Trump since they tried to KILL HIM TWICE!!
But no he’s still following unconstitutional judgements from Marxist judges that have already been rebuffed by the supreme court. He should be ignoring ANY UNCONSTITUTIONAL order from the Marxist judges that are about 50% foreigners

Yeah, watch this backfire big time in Thune AND Cornyn. This is the closet deal he should have made quietly, behind the scenes, but Trump is the most transparent president ever. "frick decorum!" Trump takes it right to the people and now, if Thune fails, Texas gets a Democrat senator because MAGA and America Firsters are not voting for Cornyn. A stand has to be made.

Incredibly short sighted and stupid but hey it’s Trump

That Democrat will not stand a chance in Texas. He will get slaughtered.

Blowing up the filibuster is likely the end of the Republic. Hopefully Thune tells him to pound sand.

Wrong. The current filibuster rule is unconstitutional.

the current implementation of the filibuster is certainly not anything featured in the constitution = and it is a bastardization of its original intent.
You need to stand there and speak - no breaks for anything but sips of water - and unless you can convince a quorum to stay there with you, it can be terminated by vote.

A larger federal government will help leftists a lot more than the alternative and they refuse to see this because they feel their team is in power and should be able to wield it without restraint. Conservatism is dead

Then why haven't leftist pulled the trigger previously and killed it

That's my argument.
Leftists being kept in check by actual conservatives has limited the expansion of our federal leviathan.
The GOP and MAGA adopting leftist principles and promoting the expansion of the federal leviathan removes those constraints (without hypocrisy, of course) and only a very small minority of actual conservatives remain...a population not large enough to affect any change.
Leftists want the guardrails against expanding fedov removed and nationalizing elections. This is the easiest conceptual L to avoid but, as I said, actual conservatism is dead.

Similar behavior Thune is engaging in that people are gnashing teeth over.
Preserving expansionist policies like removing the filibuster for another example.
