You might want the person running an organization with multiple nuclear plants to be talented enough to earn more than $500k.

Yup!! Hire foreigners to be the people operating your infrastructure. Local Power company has hired immigrants to run their computer systems, including for their nuclear generating systems as well as the steam generating facilities.

Huge turnaround from back in the days when GOP presidents turned TVA and the DoE both into contractor heavens.
When Ronald Reagan appointed Carvin Marvin Runyon to head up TVA the only management change the GOP knew was to lay off American workers, rehire them at higher wages and better benefits but without any sense of job security and pay a contractor to manage them....we went from working on a TVA agreement as trades and hourly federal employees to working for contractors...with higher wages, benefit packages and the added cost of contractor management and profit...within 24 months the number of people hired as federal employees to oversee the contractors surpassed the number of federal employees who were laid off and rehired as contractor employees...all under the guise of making it easier to fire someone...something that never happened before or after...but really so Reagan could claim he had cut government (by merely laying off employees who were immediately hired at higher wages by contractors) and. more to the point, high profile GOP donors could have access to big fat pork laden federal contracts.
If Trump has done nothing else he has flat out laid the lie to Ronald Reagan Conservativism....this alone is reason enough that he is a far better President than Reagan, or either Bush.....he has taken a Tip O'Neil 1970's organize labor approach to spending money and he is to be lauded for that!

Why? The plants should have good leadership and they follow the NRC regulations. There is no need for more bureaucracy.
