I was on a comic book site & they highlighted the Captain Marvel Jr series that ran from the early 40's to the early 50's

can you imagine how much better off we'd be if popular culture was actually PRO AMERICA like it used to be? or if we had a fair and impartial media?

I know, that ship has sailed, but I woud LOVE to see a comic or ANYTHING that pushed the same kind of message about China!

Sink the Japs?

Well, a common derogatory name for Chinamen actually works better here and rhymes to boot...

side note, a lot of folks may not know this, but Cap Jr was Elvis' favorite comic character

That must be before he turned into a grown man when yelling "Shazam".

I think Wonder Woman looked better in the stars and I bet Batman would agree.

I watched Die Hard 2 last week, and I was struck by how his wife, trapped in a jet above Dulles Airport, makes the sign of the cross to calm herself.

McClane also smokes, inside(!), in the movie.

(But that’s another story)

To your point, there's been a decay in our culture over the last century. And a large part of that is due to the assault on traditional values by the left.

Up unto 9/11, they'd even managed to tarnish military service.

Do you believe that this was just a natural turn of events, or was it orchestrated?

It's over. That version of the USA is gone forever and is not coming back. The New Left Radicals took care of that.

The change in gender norms is a good example of that. It’s the result of a sustained social and political campaign, and it’s largely been successful.

Feminists have argued that women can be as masculine as they want to be. And you see the end result, with the effort to put women into combat arms roles.

Feminists have also pushed the idea that men should be soft, and ultimately feminine in nature.

They were just trying to balance Batmans yuuuge chin. The distance from his lower lip is 3 time bigger than the distance from his lower lip to the top of his head.

Oh I see I misunderstood. I thought he was asking if the old comics were orchestrated like that, but he is asking if the change was orchestrated, or natural. I would say it was mostly orchestrated by liberals.

Why wouldn't it be?
It's just a slogan.

Where is it not?

*implication is that it is not.*

our media should be pro America, like it used to be

it should also be impartial and fair to all Americans, but it's not

Pro America refers to popular culture. Fair and impartial refers to the media.

If I said, "How much better would it be if my wife was a nice person? Or if I was rich?", I wouldn't be saying that being a nice person is being rich.

But yes, being Pro America is fair and impartial to all Americans.

Because fair and impartial isn't "pro" anything.

I didn't think that needed to be explained.

This may sound like hyperbole, but consider it.

The left is uncomfortable with the idea of success.

They dislike the strong, the self made, the people who have done something with their lives.

The left love victims, and they coddle that with the belief that failure is rarely personal, instead it’s almost always the result of outside forces.

(Which is pernicious because you can not grow, unless you fail, and learn from that failure. This does not allow that.)

America is successful.

It’s an upstart country and embodies that self made, rags to riches story. Fair, or not. So they can’t accept it.

America is also the outside force, in their cosmology, that is responsible for their failure.

So there will never be a time where they will proud to be Americans. They can’t.
