Ectopic pregnancy is the classic example. Doctors have the good intention of saving the mothers life but in the process the fetus is killed.

Note Pope Leo does not say the deportation of immigrants; he is saying the inhuman treatment of immigrants

Okay then... I'm pro-not killing innocent babies and pro-killing disgusting violent murderers, rapists and child molesters.
I'll sleep fine tonight, even though I don't fit into this prog Pope's definition of "pro-life."

Sorry el Papa, a country without borders is not a country. Having said that, I'm 100% in favor of "legal immigration". All I want illegal aliens to do is go to the designated "Port of Entry" and apply for entry. We have a right to demand that illegals subject themselves to some sort of screening. How hard is that?
FACT - your pals in the democrat party have used open borders to fill their voting ranks for decades. What their refusal to procreate did in terms of depleting their voter rolls, they now want President Trump to do by attracting illegals with promises of free heathcare. Please, el Papa stop playing games - we know what's going on here.
Her name was Jocelyn Nungaray.
Trump 2025 - He was right about.........everything

I agree with the Pope. Illegal immigrants should not be treated inhumanely.
Except he didn't say 'illegal.' He only said 'immigrants.' We welcome LEGAL immigrants. ILLEGAL immigrants, as you pointed out, are treated very well here, which is why, for years, there has been no fear to be an illegal immigrant in this country.
Now, there's a new sheriff in town, and he's enforcing the law. That is NOT inhumane. ILLEGAL immigrants have NO right to complain when they get LAWFULLY kicked out of the country, and THAT goes for EVERY country on Earth - not just the U. S.
The Pope needs to stay in his lane.

I agree with the pope. This is the Catholic doctrine.
Please give reference to this. Where in the catechism does it state that the death penalty and mistreatment of foreigners equal to the taking if innocent life?

Removing people here illegally is not inhumane.
Right. They are just being sent back home. If they want to come back, come back legally.
Exactly. The Pope can frick off on that one. Or we can start shipping illegals to the Vatican and he can take care of them.

Yeah there is nothing anti-biblical about the death penalty at face value as long as it is used in good faith to protect the public and give actual justice. Being against abortion as a principal is pretty much the only way to be in line with the Bible. There is no pro-choice version of Christianity, that is simply heresy.

So, what specifically was he referencing? Where are illegal immigrants being treated “inhumanely”? There must be something, huh?

Yeah the pope supporters in this thread are playing all kinds of mental gymnastics to try and cover for him in this thread. What he said in actual context isn't backed by the Bible.

The death penalty is not an individual choice. Removal of illegal immigrants is not an individual choice. Abortion is an individual choice.

Render onto Caesar’s what is Caesar’s.
The Bible says to be nice to immigrants, but it also stresses to listen to your political leaders and follow the law.
So if an immigrant is here against the law, is it wrong to reprimand them and recommend the legal process?

Obviously we have another Satan appointed pope.
So sad for the Catholic Church.

I don't believe the U.S. is doing any inhumane deportations. We probably do the most humane deportations in the world.
Again, if he wants to constantly stick his nose into politics like his predecessor and not subsequently stick his foot his mouth like his predecessor, then he has some explaining to do. Meaning, what specifically do you mean, oh infallible one? Words and phrasing matter. It shouldn't be hard for the head of the largest church to understand that. What he said, to Christians, mind you:
quote:What he should've said, if he wasn't lining himself up to be another woke, friend to the 21st century, heretic:
Someone who says ‘I’m against abortion but says I am in favor of the death penalty’ is not really pro-life,” Leo said. “Someone who says that ‘I’m against abortion, but I’m in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants in the United States,’ I don’t know if that’s pro-life.”

It's crap like this as to why our Orthodox parishes are steadily filling up with Roman Catholic converts.
These last couple of Popes (especially Francis, but it looks like Leo is just getting started) have proven they're not very cautious with their words, which makes me question their intellect and/or motives. Roman Catholicism had a wokeness problem that started in the 50s and 60s when radical leftists infiltrated the clergy (most of whom were responsible for the child rape and molestation), and it looks like it will continue to have its hold on their faith until Roman Catholics across the globe have finally had enough. As for me, being Orthodox, we wrote off this nonsense pope business almost a thousand years ago when Rome decided the prior 1000+ years should be thrown away along with the church's original patriarchates. The whole pope deal was Reformation before Reformation was cool, and if the Vatican keeps it up, they'll have essentially lost the west in 50 years max.
People aren't going to sit by and watch as their tax dollars are funneled into Catholic NGOs so they can bombard our western nations with 3rd world, non-Christian people who've no intent to assimilate but only dominate, and then have an infallible man who shits behind a pair of boots just like the rest of us tell us we're not good Christians for refusing to watch our world be crushed for the almighty dollar and more artwork to go in the Vatican.
Enough is enough with that farce of an institution.

Being a democrat demands mental gymnastics which may explain why such a high percentage of them are in therapy and/or medications.
Democrat - "I am FOR abortion but AGAINST the death penalty". Think on that a moment. It tracks though. Democrats condone, enable, and excuse violent criminals but discourage the nuclear family.
I guess it doesn't require mental gymnastics. It's who they are.
