Read your early church fathers. There’s no way you’ll remain a Protestant if you do and are honest with yourself.
Even early Protestants subscribed to Augustinian just-war theory. The newer, bloodthirsty ideology comes from hucksters.

I responded to the wrong post earlier. My bad.
I actually disagree with the Pope here. No way we can coexist peacefully with a demonic religion.
I think he’s trying to extend the olive branch here and is being way too nice. Well intended but wrong.

Yes, he should be condemning that religion because it encourages its followers to make war. If he was being honest, his statement today would align with a statement condemning Islam.
ETA: Instead, he embraces Muslims and rejects those who are stopping the Islamic extremists. He couldn't be further from Biblical truth if he intended it to be. That's where my original comment itt comes from: this statement from him makes it seem like he has not read the Bible.

If you think Israel and Jews are “the good guys” you are just as wrong as the Pope.

So you know what the Pope meant to say? Well okay then. I was just going to go with his quote. However, since you have mystical powers, I will defer to you.
Listen I’m happy to let Catholics find out the ills of having the fallacy of a singular man define doctrine on his whims.
I don’t think he meant it as he way you intend but who am I to get in thr way of another great awakening.

Really makes you wonder why Satan seems to attack the Catholic Church so much huh…

Catholics pick and choose those to sin against. Like all those aborted babies for pregnant nuns.

Fallible men making evil decisions. Doesn’t mean it’s not Christ’s Church.

A very devout wise person told me this Pope is worse (more political) than Francis.

I agree with this. Im Baptist and The title of that article is completely misleading. He did not say that or they only used a partial quote. And this article name directly from the Vatican website.

Do y'all think being anti-war is a newfangled woke libtard thing that just started with Francis and Leo?
Pope John Paul II:
Pope Paul VI:
Pope John XXIII:
I can keep going back further for a few centuries if we need more
quote:
Pope Benedict XVI called for an end to the “useless slaughter” of war and asked that “the rule of law” replace the recourse to weapons.
When people succumb “to the temptations of evil” and launch violent conflicts and wars, “this stupendous garden that is the world” is opened up to hell, he said.
Pope John Paul II:
quote:
War is not always inevitable. It is always a defeat for humanity. International law, honest dialogue, solidarity between States, the noble exercise of diplomacy: these are methods worthy of individuals and nations in resolving their differences. I say this as I think of those who still place their trust in nuclear weapons and of the all-too-numerous conflicts which continue to hold hostage our brothers and sisters in humanity.
Pope Paul VI:
quote:
It is enough to recall that the blood of millions, countless unheard-of sufferings, useless massacres and frightening ruins have sanctioned the agreement that unites you with an oath that ought to change the future history of the world: never again war, never again war! It is peace, peace, that has to guide the destiny of the nations of all mankind!
Pope John XXIII:
quote:
Everyone must sincerely co-operate in the effort to banish fear and the anxious expectation of war from men's minds. But this requires that the fundamental principles upon which peace is based in today's world be replaced by an altogether different one, namely, the realization that true and lasting peace among nations cannot consist in the possession of an equal supply of armaments but only in mutual trust
I can keep going back further for a few centuries if we need more
