Yes. They remind people of saints or Jesus’s sacrifice.

Do you have pictures of loved ones in your home? Why? Do you profess to worship those pictures? How is that different from what Catholics do?

You never gave a good reason for why the commandment for not worshiping idols is not in the Catholic Bible, none. You provided and excuse about it not being needed because of the first. But that simply a Catholic explanation, and not even one you came up with yourself.

How does a statue of a supposed saint help someone to focus on Jesus’ sacrifice? This makes no sense.
And yes I have pictures on the wall. I don’t kneel in front of any of them to pray.

How do you read “Worship the one true God with all your heart, all your mind, and all your soul” to not denounce idolatry?

So the kneelers are placed right in front of the statues for some other purpose?

Wow I thought that statue of Mary was actually Mary !! You mean she’s not made of plaster!
Thanks for showing me the light

Saints are humans who sacrificed a lot for God. They are role models for all of us. They serve as a reminder of what we’re capable of, and as encouragement.

Every aspect of Catholicism is about God/the Holy Trinity.

So it’s the physical kneeling in proximity to a statue that has you confused? And you’re truly unable to understand how kneeling or praying in proximity to a statue does not equate to worshiping a piece of stone?

I don’t think it’s complicated either.

You seem to be the only person who is claiming Catholics are encouraged to worship idols.

Despite what numerous actual Catholics are telling you.

Then God should have only written one commandment

All believers are called Saints in the Bible

None of your sarcasm explains the need for statues and kneeling in front of them to pray

I apologize because I jumped in mid-conversation and I’m not totally clear on what your issue is.

Do you think Catholics are encouraged to worship idols? Or are you upset because Protestants have 11 commandments and Catholics only have 10?

You do realize that the Bible was compiled by Catholics, I’m sure. Including the sources for whatever interpretation your sect subscribes to.

Catholics are unknowingly worshiping plaster because you said so, right? That’s the clear part?

Catholics can also tell me they go to strip clubs and don’t look. I won’t believe that either

I explained it to you. Additionally, Catholics kneel to pray because we’re unworthy to stand before God. Humility is a fruit of the spirit, you know.

Why are you asking Catholics questions if you’ve already determined our beliefs, even after we correct you?

You’re clearly not here to have a discussion. You’re just throwing out accusations that are extremely disrespectful.

We all are, thats why we are instructed to come before the throne of God offering up the blood of Christ as our sacrifice. We are never instructed to come boldly before God though statues or saints

I’m not debating to ascertain their answers. I’m debating to present what the Bible explains as truth.
But also because I’m at work, bored, and it’s a way to pass time

Point to the Bible verse that says Catholics worship plaster. That’s your truth, isn’t it?
