Politico - many GOP insiders fear that Teflon Don is back.

Republican Party insiders looking to move on from former President Donald Trump increasingly fear that Teflon Don is back.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ technology-challenged but donor-rich entry into the GOP presidential primary cemented his place in the early primary as the chief alternative to Trump.
But it will hardly clear the field. And with a growing cast of characters still waiting in the wings to announce their own campaigns, warning signs of a 2016 replay are once again flashing in the GOP. According to interviews with nearly a dozen GOP strategists, former candidates and party insiders, the intraparty dynamics now at play — and Trump’s own alchemical grip on the base — suggest a primary where a constellation of Republicans once again risk splitting the non-Trump vote in early nominating states.
“If those people are all still in the race when January comes around, it’s going to be 2016 all over again, and Trump will win,” said Jason Osborne, the New Hampshire House majority leader who has endorsed DeSantis in the primary, at a Rockingham GOP dinner this week where Nikki Haley served as the keynote speaker. “That’s just how it is.”

No one polling above 50% has ever lost the primary.

Trump wasn’t my guy, turned me off; but I watched his Presidency and what he did to the economy and helping everyone; at his own expense, the way they falsely persecuted the man. That dude got my respect, and it isn’t that I don’t like Desantis, but if I can vote Trump, I will let nothing stand in my way…

DONALD will finish the job, unless the swing state cheaters are successful again.

Except I was on Trump train since 2015.

Most of us were. But we can still call him on his BS.

Trump’s just gives off too much a vibe of abrasiveness and fights too much. They need to use the FBI and judicial system to keep him from winning. It’s ok in this case - because the abrasiveness and combativeness upsets me and could lead a perfectly cooperative and close knit country into a cauldron of divisiveness and tumult.

The guy did a great great job as President despite working against all of the left and half of the right.
I'm hopeful he gets a second term to finish what he started.

Just need Dumb Bunch and a-hole on the Mountain to chime in with their quip du jour about how retarded we all are thinking he can take it back, how miserably he failed in his first term, and of course how he can’t beat Biden.

But our resident Trump haters say Covid delegitimized his entire term and that his presidency was terrible and irredeemable because of his actions during Covid!

Let’s just hope there’s something in the works to counter the ballot harvesting and late night vote dumps. Whoever gets the nom can’t stub their toe when it comes to bringing votes to our side because we’re gonna need margins so big that votes can’t be manufactured to beat them. Also GOP heavy precincts in frickery areas need to hold off on releasing numbers.
Lol. I said “dumps”

That shite's been over before it even started.
The sooner Rinos accept it, the sooner we can get ready for general.

^^^^THIS^^^^
The vast majority (including my mother) of conservatives base their choice on emotions —- when it comes to voting for/against Trump.

Absolutely!
But those who will not vote for him if he’s the Republican choice, bc they just don’t like his personality and what he tweets, are helping the evil continue in our federal government
If most Americans knew the true personalities of USPOTUS’s over history, many would say “ damn, that guy was a total a-hole”, and so times worse.
Trump just wears all of it out front —- he is who he is

First president I ever saw that followed through.
I owe the man.

I did too. I wasn't happy about Syria airfields bombing or some of his legislation he was bamboozled into signing. He was surrounded by saboteurs from top to bottom.
He is still the best populist option we have.
