Ok than what does the below mean?
After the lead up to it, to me it means that man is not able to go directly to God.

This is an "exhibit A" of the problems and heresy that is the reformation: EVERYONE is their own authority.

I'll let mpMud answer... but you're mistaken.
Also, BT is wrong on who Christ is... whether you are Catholic, Orthodox, Protestant, Evangelical, etc...

Has Brandon cherry picked a magistrate judge who will support his position and issue a national block on Christian beliefs.
And yes that was sarcasm

And no one has agreed with him.
Sure there are Charlatans that take things to weird extremes, but ones relationship with God is with Him directly. Therefore it's ones own authority. We definitely need to have discussions to correct the Charlatans.

That is dangerous territory... and exactly how we end up with Tatum's spreading false gospels.

quote:interesting how you ignored the below I added, which is to stave off what you said. Putting your full faith in sinful man to communicate it to God isn't going to fix the problem either, since they too spread false gospel. Which we've seen plenty recently.

Sorry about that- it wasn't intentional.

Okay... how do we do that if each man is the ultimate authority on God?
What is the truth? Where does it come from? How do we know?

No, not in the least. The op said he thought everyone should be silent about Jesus and who he is, and leave it up to the priests and pastors. That is the part I addressed. If you think I’m trying to pick a fight over sharing the gospel, you couldn’t be more wrong. I would encourage any Christian to share their faith on what Christ has done for them. For me, He has saved me from a punishment that I deserved but no longer have to endure. Yes I will always encourage people to share their experiences because that is exactly what He had called us to do.

Bro no one’s reading all that shite

I never agreed with anything that the guy said. How anyone can come to that conclusion is ridiculous. I’m saying the exact opposite. The part I disagreed with was that the op said he should be silent about Christianity. That is the exact opposite of what Jesus himself taught. Sharing what He has done in your life is the very essence of what salvation is about.

He said,
quote:
People, this is why most of us, if we ever find ourselves in a setting of being a public figure, should keep our mouths shut in fancying ourselves as an authoritative figure on a very serious subject (Jesus Christ), and instead defer questions to our priests and church fathers. This is an "exhibit A" of the problems and heresy that is the reformation: EVERYONE is their own authority.
Most people... as public figures... should not be fancying ourselves as authoritative figures on Christ... and leading people astray.
I'm not a public figure- but I try to be *very* careful in speaking on theology, especially to new believers or non believers... sharing Christ's impact on my life- YES! Speaking theology, not so much.
BT is misspeaking theology in the OP post- that is the problem.

There’s a big difference between telling people what Jesus has done in your life and using your giant social media platform to speak of theology or to proselytise, when you don’t know theology. OP was talking about the latter.
And to be clear, my opinion is that Jesus was not talking about the former when he gave the Great Commission. He was commissioning the Apostles, who were at that point endowed with the Holy Spirit and had been through Jesus’ ministry with him (trained), to go out and begin their ministries. The passages before and after your quote bear that out:
quote:
14 [But] later, as the eleven were at table, he appeared to them and rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart because they had not believed those who saw him after he had been raised. 15 He said to them, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the gospel to every creature. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17 These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will drive out demons, they will speak new languages. 18 They will pick up serpents [with their hands], and if they drink any deadly thing, it will not harm them. They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

I agree with some of what he has said about Tatum lately. BT certainly appears bought-and-paid-for by the joos.
The impression of of Tatum as a retarded black guy is amazing.

Our media, influencers, and government have all been purchased by Israel. The comical part, if it weren't so sad, is that they're all purchased with OUR money.
