People are still delusional if they think all LEO are on the side of the People. Just like we saw during peak Covid lockdowns last year, the run of the mill LEO will follow the orders they are given.

When I got arrested back in April this same thing happened to me when I was in handcuffs. I wasn't arrested for not wearing a mask but they still forced a mask on me.

I have never been a Back the Blue guy because they will be the stooges to enforce tyranny. My 36 hours in jail having to deal with the police in the jail I was in re-inforced this. None of them were very bright people.

They are a necessary evil. Nothing more nothing less. Ask yourself who do you want to be policed by.... Judge Dread or Andy Griffith?

I'm kind of interested in starting to have actual police officers and their leadership come out and either say they would refuse to participate in the types of actions you're seeing in Australia or if they would go along with them. It's high time to stand up and take a side on this before they're literally asked to do this here..

Further, I'm interested in what the average Australian actually thinks about what's happening right now in their country. From the outside, especially if you're on the side of liberty, you see it as a totalitarian crackdown on freedoms backed up by an aggressive and over eager police state. But what do THEY think? Do they see the tradies and others that are protesting as lunatics and trouble makers they way most people here viewed the violent rioters last summer? Are they on their side, but too afraid to stand up?

I have always been leery of police. A LOT are power hungry. With that said, they deal with arse hats daily, so I don't blame them....just don't trust them either.

The sad thing is that there will always be someone to come along that is willing to stick it to the people, even when good people refuse to comply and get fired. They will do it for money, justify it as “doing their job to feed their family” or because they want to move up the tyrannical food chain. The end result however is always a collection of tyrannical robots who are calloused and indifferent to right and wrong, only put the coin in their slot and they will do whatever you ask them to do. If you can wrap it up in patriotism or what’s good for society on a whole, then all the better to help them deal with their consciences.

Conservatives watch too many TV shows and movies and have a distorted view of the police. The average cop likes exerting power over people and wants to protect their pension. Anyone thinking they’d “revolt” at unlawful orders is a dullard.

Cops would just as soon kneel on your neck for not following some gay mask order. Remember that. The only thing they care about is their pensions.

Like getting hit in the face with a hammer (cause they gave up their guns).

I remember you discussing the event you're talking about.

Did everything turn out OK, if you're at liberty to discuss without going into detail? Just curious.

You can tell the ones who are and aren’t. The ones who are noticeably hate telling people to put on their mask and they are cordial about it. Now, these frickers in that picture obviously aren’t. Honestly, there are terrible people out there that love doing this shite to people and their extreme actions prove that. They have mental problems and those should be dealt with

I have personal experience with this, and I’m a good looking white guy. On a few occasions they were acting completely over the top. One time a group of friends and I were put on our knees outside the car on a highway because they smelled weed. They kicked two of those people from the back for no reason and those 2 fell on their face. We didn’t have weed on us. This happened in early 2000’s. I’ve also been let go a few times when everyone else got arrested, walking some freshmen in college trying to find their way back to their dorm. I was wasted, but had great answers and kept my composure. Had another really nice cop let me go when I had drinks in me. I wasn’t far from my house. Told me to be careful. I once got pulled over turning into an intersection when the cop caught me for getting road head. He came up with a few sarcastic comments, told me to keep my eye on the road, smiled and patted me on the shoulder and told me to keep moving. First 3 speeding tickets I was let go. I was young and clearly scared.

My case is still active but I did hire a lawyer.

The cops I dealt with that day and that weekend were assholes. The cops flat out lied to me several times in order to get me in jail in the first place. If I just ignored them and didn't take them at their word, I would have never gone to jail.

I had never been to jail before, and I was ultra confused. Each time I tried to ask one of the officers a simple question they would be a total asswipe to me. I get that there were a ton of actual a-hole criminals in there who didn't deserve respect but I was different. I already felt like I shouldn't have been there in the first place and just wanted to know what the legal process was. If they even bothered to answer me instead of simply telling me to shut up, they would just say I'd be out in an hour or two. Which was BS.

Just like Mayberry, Andy never has existed and most cops think they are or aspire to be Judge Dredd.

People tend to do the work for the people that pay them. Anyone on here who thinks that LEO or Military will turn and support citizens over who is paying them regardless of how corrupt or tyrannical it is are dreaming.

I agree with you, except only about 10-20% of locals are authoritarian cocksuckers...
Except the eff-be-eye, and federal agencies...closer to 50%

How about doing any anonymous survey in departments to see where people fall. Use a sock email address
