Does one justify resisting and pointing a gun at them while the other doesn't?
Justify it? No.

But if you can’t see the difference between the two scenarios, then you’re just being obtuse.

One scenario says, “They’re here to question me and hear my side of the story.”

The other scenario screams, “I’m going prison or they’re going to kill me!”

Yeah, didn't think so.

They tried that and were told to come back with a warrant. They then tried that.

Yep, this is definitely a FAFO situation.

Also, the 80 year old disabled veteran with no criminal record and with an ignorant attitude towards mouthing off online should not have been gunned down in his home by federal authorities.
No no no! Displaced Buckeye thinks he was an extremely dangerous terrorist that deserved a SWAT raid on his home to gun him down. He was a threat to our national security. He got what he deserved!

I can't because I wasn't there.

See how that works?

Yes. A 300 lb man getting into his vehicle from church or grocery store is safer place to approach than in his neighborhood with his full cache or weapons shooting out his front door.

Exactly.

Why does the FBI (and other LEO agencies) insist on the predawn SWAT raids?

Strictly for a show of force.

Roger Stone’s attorneys had already struck a deal for him to come in for questioning, instead they rousted him out of bed in his underwear with a stroke force of over 20 agents, some in an armored attack boat armed with .50 cal machine guns.

Ridiculous.

You never answered my earlier question Mickey. How about you Displaced Cuckeye?

How do you apprehend a suspect without killing them? Is a SWAT raid the only option?

So what are you doing in here if not the same as what I'm doing, speculating?

Do you have a list of approved opinions we can review so our posts don't offend you? Thanks.

Yep, this was basically an execution by the FBI.

I’m not excusing his online threats, that was wrong. But he was executed by the feds.

the surround the house early in the morning and force the suspect out protocol is FBI SOP. What is ironic about this case is their SOP is the one circumstance where a 75 yr old man who walks with a cane has the most resources and motivation to resist arrest.

In his home, with all of his guns and ammo handy is the most powerful that old man could possibly be. In pretty much any other scenario the FBI would easily have the upper hand on him.

So lets wait until he is behind the wheel of a car, still armed with a gun mind you, to make the arrest? If he wouldn't simply walk out of his house, what makes you think giving him the threat of using his car against people is a good idea?

or perhaps put him under surveillance and arrest him when he comes out of his house in his driveway?

we have seen LEO use different tactics to apprehend suspects, dont act like storming the Alamo is the only option the FBI had

Maybe you try knocking on the door, telling them you have a warrant, and ordering them to come outside unarmed?

They should've tried that.

They would have still had to storm him by surprising him in his driveway. Most would say that is being overly aggressive to an elderly man. Imagine a bunch of agents rushing to surround an old man in his driveway without giving the man the option of surrendering peacefully on his own. Here, they gave him that option. He refused.

As the Glen Beck interviewed retired FBI agent said, there are a lot of ways they could have arrested the guy that didn't involve use of lethal force. That to me indicates that the political FBI brass wanted to have him killed.
