The guy crossed the line and begged for whatever came next. I'm as tired of the overreach as anyone, but this guy was crazy wreckless.

Is this the “FBI rightfully has been empowered to serve as jury, judge and executioner” talking point?

Keep trying, sport.

Sounds a lot like the dude FAFO.

This board has attracted an impressive amount of nutjobs since 2016.

Racecar spelled backwards spells racecar. You and Jerry can figure it out. You're both smart.

Yep. They anticipated shooting him, they looked forwards to shooting him. It’s all part of SWAT getting to play dress up and COSPLAY commando.

You can’t tell me a “US Marshall” or FBI Agents couldn’t formulate a plan to detain a disabled, obese 75 year old who needed a cane to walk.

They’d had him under surveillance, you simply wait until he’s waddling to his car to detain him.

Dude’s not carrying an AR-15 to his car, and he has one hand occupied holding the cane to keep from falling in his face.

Instead of using some common sense, they execute a pre-Dawn raid, the guys seen enough news coverage to know when they do that you’re likely dying.

So, they got their wish, killed a guy who supposedly had an “arsenal” of guns (whatever that is), and scored the daily double bonus of him being a white Trump supporter.

It appears Robertson posed a real and existential threat to the reigning regime — he wore a red “MAGA” cap.

FLASHBACK: February 2017 | Over 12,000 tweets are calling for Trump's assassination. Here's how the Secret Service handles it…

In the 12 days since Donald Trump took the oath of office, a steady stream of social media posts have called for the new president's assassination.

The posts are pretty basic and many are jokes or sarcastic or hyperbolic -- but there are a lot of them. In a Dataminr search of Twitter posts since Inauguration Day containing the phrase "assassinate Trump" more than 12,000 tweets came up.

The U.S. Secret Service, however, or even Twitter and Facebook themselves, doesn't seem to be jumping onto many of these posts. When we asked several users about their recent "assassinate Trump" posts, all of them said they hadn't been contacted by anyone about their post and they all remain up….

The U.S. Secret Service could not be reached for official comment about how they handle social media posts threatening to assassinate the sitting president. On the platform side, Facebook and Twitter have policies in place to take down threatening posts.

As Twitter said in an email statement, "The Twitter Rules prohibit threats of violence, and we will suspend accounts violating that policy." Facebook similarly said under their "credible threats policy" they remove posts showing intent to kill the president.

Yet thousands of posts that use the words "kill" and "assassinate" remain up — most of them targeting the president no less. The platforms can't seem to keep up with the influx of death threats and don't seem to be upholding their own policies as strictly as they would like….

Yes. The dead suspect effectively signed his own death warrant by criticizing a Deep State Democon. Too bad for him he wasn’t a Hollywood star and threatening a MAGA Repube. It would have been excused as Constitutionally protected “artistic expression.”

I just wish they had killed all the actors/actresses that were calling for Trump to be killed.

Yeah well too bad for you only crippled, morbidly obese and geriatric right wing crank cases are targeted for elimination by Deep State assassination squads.

Did these Hollywood types threaten to shoot the FBI when they came back, and then open fire on the FBI?

No? Exactly.

What got this dude, probably, was the specifity of the threat.

Saying the pres should be assassinated is one thing.

Saying you're going to do it, naming a time/place/method is quite another.

The dude needed a visit, he turned up the dial to 11 by threatening the agents.

I'm just not sure politics weren't involved in the decision on how to handle it as I'm struggling to believe they were unable to contain and detain such a physically feeble man.

And “true conservatives” such as yourself are fricking tools for continuing to defend a foundationally corrupt Federal agency such as the FBI. The FBI is — and always has been — an extraconstitutional entity operating under the color of the law to target political opposition to the permanent reigning regime in Washington D.C.

Indeed, J. Edgar Hoover ruthlessly used the agency to blackmail and otherwise target his political rivals in Washington D.C. for decades on end. Whatever crimes this man committed — and threatening to shoot anyone on a public forum most certainly should be a crime — every aspect of the FBI’s case against this man is tainted because of the doctrine of the fruit of the poisonous tree.

The FBI weren’t sent to that residence to contain or detain that loon. The FBI were sent with explicit orders to exterminate a rodent. Anyone claiming otherwise is a damn tool or a damn fool.

Go ahead and keep pretending this is what happened, I suppose.

It definitely makes you look competent and reasonable.

Pretend what happened? The only pretending here is the claim the FBI is a legitimate law enforcement agency.

That I'm defending the FBI.

In fact, outside of quoting others, that is the second post in 12 pages that I've even brought up "FBI." The first was to ask who it was that went on Glen Beck.

Nice try, sport.
