What makes the FBI more dangerous to an average citizen than your local sheriff's dept?

Holy shite, what a stupid question. I VOTE for my local sheriff... I haven't been able to vote for too many FBI directors.

My sheriff has a very limited budget, which is publicly available. The FBI's budget is, "however much we need to murder the most conservatives this year."

My local sheriff's department has about as much firepower as me and my closest 7 or 8 neighbors. The FBI can bring any weapon in existence to a gunfight.

Do I need to go on or do you realize you need to rethink your entire premise?

Some degree of local control. Or is this a trick question?

Local control by whom? Corruption is peak at local levels.

I mean, I know where my local sheriff lives, along with all of his family members, and where his grandchildren go to school... if things get REALLY out of control.

I don't even know who you are or what you've said. Tell your "family member" to chime in and I might give a frick. Hell, I might even know them.

You don’t know your arse from a hole in the ground, particularly on this subject.

You don't confront someone like this in public when you don't have to.

You don't think a couple of agents could have taken him down without gunfire as he walked out of the grocery store? The only weapon he could have on him at the time would be a pistol. And according to witnesses, he wasn't in the best shape to draw on agents before they could take him to the ground. But now he's dead, so it really doesn't matter. I know, from some of your previous post you are a gun owner yourself. What would be your knee-jerk reaction to agents storming your house while you are asleep and a firearm nearby as opposed to walking out of the grocery store with a concealed weapon? Which one are you likely to pull first?

Well, I don't have a "family member" to fall back on.

Loser.

Or they go into someone's home with 20 armed agents and a television crew on hand. Roger Stone ring a bell?

Sure, that's possible. Why risk it?

You've been told by multiple people who've done this for a living why you don't do that. You can either believe it or don't. Up to you.

I'm much less likely to react with violence to someone knocking on my door and telling me they have a warrant, than for multiple people to try tackling me in a parking lot.

Wouldn't the FBI have to actually conduct a FIRST interview to be threatened?

Stop using common sense man. The only way to apprehend a 75 year old disabled Vietnam vet is to storm his home with a SWAT team.

Wait. When did I miss the FBI interviewing Madonna, Johnny Depp, Snoop Dog and the other Hollywood elites that threatened President Trump?

Listen man, I know you’re a Marshal and I’ve exchanged remarks with you before on here and I like and respect you. But I respectfully disagree with you on the tactics used by law enforcement. I’m totally against no-knock raids, with a few exceptions for instance. It seems like the only tool in the FBI’s toolbox is a hammer, and everyone is a nail. We can agree to disagree on tactics.

On your comments about the dangers of apprehending a suspect in their vehicle, just consider the differences in “potential firepower available” to a suspect in their home versus in their vehicle. A suspect in their home has access to high powered rifles and hundreds if not thousands of rounds of ammunition. A suspect in a vehicle doesn’t have that option in almost all cases.

In this particular instance on the apprehension of a 75 year old disabled Vietnam vet, I wholeheartedly believe it could have be handled better and without bloodshed. The guy obviously hated the FBI, so was it possible for another local law enforcement agency to conduct an interview with the guy? Is that possible?

This could have all been straightened out by a visit from the local PD or Sheriff’s deputies.

What experience do you have to say this? Just your feelings? Or do you also have a "family member" who "was" FBI?

I have my opinion, which I’m entitled to. It’s called common sense.
