Maybe, but you didn't hear Rispone deny it? He couldn't. It's the truth. Of the $1 million he’s spent on political causes since 2015, records show $600,000 has gone to political action committees backing candidates. Rispone also spent money on political action committees to promote the breakaway of part of a wealthier, whiter part of East Baton Rouge Parish into a community called St. George, according to state campaign finance records. He also formed Citizens for a Better Baton Rouge, funding it with $78,000, to support Republican state Sen. Bodi White in his race for Baton Rouge mayor. White, who supported the St. George breakaway, lost that race to Democrat Sharon Weston Broome in 2016.

Any good civics minded person interested in good government should help fund candidates they support. What’s wrong with that?

Rispone's company works in private industry in and outside of La. He doesn’t do public sector jobs. There is no conflict of interest.

I do not see a problem. Heck he’d putting up 10 million dollars on his own campaign.

Wrong.

I’m in South Louisiana and everyone in my circle of friends is supporting Abraham, even more so since Rispone started his BS lies. For an “outsider”, Rispone sure is a typical trashy politician.

The point is in LA Politics, he's an INSIDER and has been for years. Didn't say anything wrong with it, just don't LIE about being an Outsider

He’s not a career politicians. He made his money in the private sector. He doesn’t depend on government for anything. That makes him an outsider.

Abraham was an outsider too, until he got elected. I wouldn’t call him a career politician either. Same thing with Trump.

JBE is a career politician, his entire family is, That’s the difference.

I love how Rispone brags about creating jobs. Does he think people work in Abraham's clinics for free?

Abraham and Rispone are both American success stories. Abraham represents the white collar, educated class, while Rispone has more of a blue collar vibe to him.

In a lot of situations, there wouldn't be much of a difference, but there's one issue that I think seperates them.

What is the biggest drain on Louisiana's state budget, which means that there isn't enough money to pay the bills without higher taxes?

Now which one of these candidates knows that industry inside and out and is in a better position to fix it, or at least improve it to a workable model?

He can't do it alone, though. We need to turn over our state legislature or nothing will change, regardless of who the governor is.

Exactly. Many of these legislators voted for everything Jindal wanted his 8 years in office. They never stood up to him as an independent body, but just as soon as JBE was elected then they felt the need to be independent. La voters should vote everty incumbent out of office from the local level to the state wide level. But they won't. They allow these legislators to swap seats and get around term limit laws. Francis Thompson in NE Louisiana was relected back to the house with out opposition. Over 40 years as Rep., then Senator, now back at Rep again. Louisiana citizens and voters have to be the dumbest electorate in the country

If you really care about making sure JBE is a one term Governor, you really should rethink your support for Rispone's attacks on Abraham.

It's clearly helped JBE in the polls as it pushed North LA democrats from abraham to edwards to a point where it's absolutely possible JBE may win this thing outright in the primary.

Rispone spent millions attacking Abraham only for Edwards to get those Voters that Rispone was trying to get.

If he had ran a better campaign with a much more competent marketing strategy that wasn't tone deaf, Rispone wouldn't be resorting to the one thing that would help JBE win.

Not only that. If Rispone makes the runoff with JBE, the majority of Abraham voters will vote JBE. Just to spite Rispone. Just as Angelle supporters did to Vitter.

I'm very afraid this could very well be the case.

You don't piss off and alienate the voters you'll need later and a month is not enough time to win those voters back, especially against an entrenched democrat incumbent who doesn't get very much hate.

It's not like Trump having 6 months to wine and dine GOP primary voters against someone like Hillary Clinton who they hate with every fiber of their being.

I'm resigned to the conclusion that no candidates in Louisiana since Mike Foster actually give a shite about anyone in this state. That being said, I'm blindly pulling the red ticket no matter who is facing Gov Boucher
