And FEMA should have stepped in a long time ago to assist these poor people with living expenses while evacuated and cleanup is being done.

If you are depending on FEMA you are pretty much screwed.

Phenol is the reaction stabilizer used in shipping vinyl chloride

It used to be butadiene like in all the shiploads we sent to Venezuela and Brazil in the 70's and 80's.

Well, the difference between Iraqi burn pits and Ohio burn pits is 3 million Veteran Administration claims.

You should never use Chlorseptic then. That and lots of other medications have phenol as the active ingredient

C'mon man!

I'm a chemist. I'm ready for it!

You left out producing VCM using acetylene. If you’ve made it with that process, I likely know you.

The amount of Hydroquinone (Phenolic Compound) is used at an amount of 5ppm or less. I hardly think that will cause a problem. Does anyone know why they burned it? I do and you have no idea what could have happened if they had not.

I posted similar response a fee days ago. Failing to burn this stuff and it getting released into the community unscathed would have been way worse than the ugly black cloud that was produced.

Josh Shapiro is asking questions about this disaster and the way it was handled. Was any modeling done before the decision was made to release and perform a controlled burn? It appears the rail company made this decision.?This is third world shite. We need answers. Where’s the fricking media?
