If I went to a foreign country to go to school and started protesting in the streets, I would get deported back here with a quickness. Why is this concept lost on people?

What exactly did she do that you disagree with? I haven't been able to find any concrete information about why she's being detained.

She's not deported. She hasn't been charged with anything but is being detained in Louisiana.

Let's see...do I trust law enforcement to oversee a non-US citizen being in a cage for 48 hours before escorting her home more than I trust election officials to handle the results of an election that will have four years worth of consequences plus the reverberating effects of what happens during that term, which could be a decade or more.
