These people act like it's 1910 and we're all working at the factory for 16 hours a day making $6.

It's 2018 and they're working at Starbucks 16 hours a day for $6 an hour because their social justice degree is worthless

Perfect examples of why the NPC meme is true.

The "so-and-so makes hundreds of millions of dollars every day" are always my favorite.

the concept of stock ownership must be the most complex idea ever
this also applies to "CEO pay" arguments/sound bites

the general concept that present-day Indians somehow own the cultural concept of bone broth for eternity is hilarious on so many fronts
1. what culture doesn't have some sort of broth?
2. the present-day Indian culture almost assuredly appropriated the concept eons ago. why do they get to claim it now?
however, this part made me legit lol
the article literally proves that "bone broth" isn't even solely an Indian cultural item

Today, almost all brands sold in grocery stores contain onions and garlic, both of which, according to Ayurveda are not suitable for most people. Rawat includes neither in her broth. Instead, she boils the bones gently with her signature Ayurvedic elixir blend that includes ingredients like fresh turmeric root, fresh ginger root, fenugreek seeds, cinnamon bark, green cardamom pods, and black peppercorns.

I love this old shoe. "Workers" are apparently going to get together and vote on everything, all the time.
It's similar to "we took the land held by the aristocrats and gave it to 'the people'" as if "the people" were free to go and do anything they want there. The Dark Knight Rises makes fun of this concept with the "now it belongs to everyone" mansion scene.
In reality, all they get is a new ruling class, less than what they had before, and absolutely no way out.

We want the govt to provide our housing, our food, our jobs, our entertainment, our healthcare, and our livelihood!
Prisons are horrible and strip prisoners of their sense of self worth! No one should have to deal with such horrible conditions!
I laff evry Tim

yeah even better, "no state control" is needed but what happens when you want to create your own factory next door?
hint, it won't be sky screaming

The fact that we have to defend capitalism is sad and an indictment on our education system.

This whole "labor" thing makes me laugh. Robots made your iphone, after the development of complex software and industrial engineering systems by a multitude of well paid people, all due to incredible innovation driven by profit.

the fact that capitalism isn't directly associated with the concept of freedom shows that sophistry has overtaken intelligent analysis. warping one of the most basic concepts of human existence (freedom) into welcoming mob rule at best and full on authoritarianism at its worst and calling that freedom is one of the saddest things i've watched in my adult life
and this coming from a person who used to honestly argue that "socialism is just a way to bring the poor up a little" in my yout

Well there are worker-owned enterprises that do have the ability to expand. Look at Mondragon Corporation in Spain. That said, I don't think American socialists are looking to Mondragon as a model, even though it is probably the most successful model of a worker-owned enterprise.

Ironically, under capitalism, you can still voluntarily have socialist enterprises (worker owned)

Yeah there is nothing stopping workers from coming together and forming their own company with whatever management structure they want. There are plenty of worker-cooperatives in the US, albeit most are very small. I hang out with a ton of really far leftists, and none ever seem to bring up Mondragon, partly because there is no interest in emulating a successful worker co-op, but rather, just complaining about capitalism.
