Kind of stands to reason that if there is a movement to vote against Trump, a substantial number of actual voters from that increase would derive from people outside of Trump's base, correct?

No, the increases came from outside Trumps base. Black men, women, "POC". He only lost a little with white women. If people were turning out en masse against Trump logic would expect to see those numbers decrease.

And guess what happens when they do turn out. All Republicans have to do is give them a good enough reason. Try hiring someone a little less polarizing, and I guarantee you'll win every time.

Trump was polarizing in 2016.

Contrary to the fears of some Democrats, Biden maintained solid support among African Americans. Biden received 92% of the Black vote, statistically indistinguishable from Hillary Clinton’s 91% in 2016. His support among Black women was never in doubt, but President Trump’s alleged appeal to Black men turned out to be illusory. (His share of the Black male vote fell from 14% in 2016 to 12% in 2020 while Biden raised the Democrats’ share from 81% to 87%.)

Only reason Trump kept it close is because he dramatically increased his Hispanic support by 10%.

Amazing how much that demographic is ignored by politicians.

2018 - Lost House and Senate
2020 - Total Wipeout
2022 - Barely retook the House despite the worst Administration in modern times.

If the polls were accurate, Hillary would have been president.

Newsflash…the 2016 polls were accurate. Most had Clinton winning by 3-5% points. And guess what, she won the popular vote by 3.9%.

According to surveys conducted by Edison Research and published by The New York Times, Trump has boosted his share of the Black vote by 4 percentage points since 2016, when just 8 percent of Black voters supported him.

draws thousands of people to rallies.

This is a terrible proxy for support. I don’t need a well-attended rally to prove to me that there are terrible judges of character everywhere.

The claim is that Trump blew all that up. Did you think you were only going to get positive outcomes from that?

"Trump is the same as McCain and Romney" is a hell of a defense.

Right, but he spent decades rubbing elbows with NYC liberals and was up against someone with a 34% approval rating. That's six points lower than POTatUS after he's fricked the country up for three years.

Yawn.

Trump isn't the president right now. You can explain that however you need to explain it, but that's reality.

What has he done to win in 2024?

Yep. It's ten pages of:

1. "Here's some evidence"

2. "I don't accept that evidence" followed by the pigeon/chess board routine.
