Lotus Eaters cuts through all of the BS and gets down to the nuts and bolts of it all, which is obviously to bring manufacturing and sustainability back to the United States and save this country from it’s own economic ruin we are headed to at breakneck speed.
Great piece which in essence labels the US and UK economies as BS economies without any real substance, and rightly so. We’ve gone from an economic manufacturing powerhouse to full on dependency, and many are perfectly content to remain in that condition when they have the wherewithal to change that condition.

Did we have to do all of this when millions of Americans will also be cutting Uncle Sam a sizable check in less than 2 weeks? The timing seems tone deaf to me.

A 2 trillion dollar deficit and rising is dictating the timing for us all. None of this is sustainable and so I’d argue it’s so late in the game that it’s critical if we want a country.

Great do it in February less than 30 days after taking office or do it in June. Just don't do it when your actual tax paying base is paying Uncle Sam $30k just to file an extension along with looking at 6-figure losses in their 401k

It’s all pretty simple economically
With the tarriffs, trump wants Americans to buy their stuff made in the USA and try to force other countries to trade more fairly with us be it through tarriffs or currency manipulation or cheating on labor laws etc.
The result of that will be increased cost of goods here in the USA.
Are you willing to pay more to get the trade picture straightened out?

The people who are crying about tariffs are mentally weak. Sometimes you gotta endure a little pain for longer term gain. You can't run a marathon without putting a few bandaids on your nipples.

This is one argument.
I guess today MAGA is pivoting back to this one and abandoning the "fair trade" stance that populated this board yesterday

How long will this take? Long enough to lose midterms and the White House in 4 years probably

Hell yes.
Beats paying 3x as much for groceries because the Biden Regime was cutting 10 billion dollar checks to every country in the world to spread trans and DEI shite.

If trumps tariffs don't work, Republicans won't win another presidency for the next 20 years.
