We’re really in a bad spot. We responded last time with air strikes after their last chemical attack and now we’re pledging more attacks with Russia saying they’ll retaliate if we do.
How can we not bomb Syria again for having done the same thing?

There were also no Russians around the last time we bombed Syria...folks on the ground believe they had forewarning from this administration.
What's the surest way to discredit Mueller's investigation? War with Russia? Yep. You think Trump or Putin give a frick about a few thousand of their men dying as long as their asses are covered? frick no.
Alas, Mueller's work will continue...war or no war.

"We" aren't in a bad spot.
We should put this in the UN's hands. If they want to stay relevant, then they will agree to act as a coalition and back us in the decision.
Should Russia retaliate on us, then it will be viewed as an act of war against all other UN members.

It's been neocons and Democrats that have been calling for airstrikes against Assad and directly challenging the Russians. But now it's a Trumpian wag the dog conspiracy to take action in Syria? How schozophrenic are you?
Suffice itvto say Trump will be making a bad decision doing so but a decision that is perfectly in line with what the mainstream of both parties are and have been seeking policy wise.

A nation divided will fall. I dont give two shits how much debt we can go into to finance a war or how powerful our technology is.
I personally have family and friends in military (one in intelligence and dealt with Russia directly) who have said our military isnt close to ready for a sizeable war against Russia or China with how stretched we are.
When you consider the fact the nation is as divided aa it has ever been since the civil war history has shown those nations fall. Period. There is no debate here.

The nature of these airstrikes, if confirmed, are almost certain to originate from the #IDF. #Israel has a history of conducting overflights of #Lebanon on the way to regime targets within #Syria.
