Okay, but you were saying that was all Trump was asking Pence to do. It isn't really up to Pence...a Representative objects, a Senator objects, and debates are held. Pence may have banged the gavel, but he didn't have any decisions to make. And it happened.

It's late. I'm sure the Congressional record contains details. Here is a link to an NPR article showing the votes for both the Arizona objection and the PA objection. For PA, the Senate voted without debating, but the House took the full 2 hours.

yeah there is lots of debate as to what exactly trump asked for and whether it was legal or not.
somebody said trump asked pence to flip election which is an outright lie.
we knew he cannot do that anyway

He ended it by saying it would have been chaos. Not that it was illegal. Because its exactly how John Quincy Adams became president. And he was legally installed by the House, not the voters
