The bay area has crumbled since she's been in Washington it's so long ago it's not really home anymore and it's not like anyone there would roll out the red carpet for her home coming. This sweetheart deal makes perfect sense.

Her and her husband are worth more than a hundred million dollars. They could easily buy a huge villa in Italy and spend the rest of their lives living in luxury there. But, they'd only be considered filthy rich assholes...and wouldn't have much power.
