I don't think the liberals that have created this welfare state should get off easy by selling land
quote:this is clearly NOT a liberal idea, liberals are the ones who want to protect the land, but this is an idea you dont like, so you blame the other side for it.
I know that most democrats will hate this due to their communist leanings.

Which is weird because conservativs used to be the ones who were environmentally friendly.
They wanted to "conserve" the land.
Now they just want to sell it off so it can be turned to shite. No thanks. I'm not interested in living in China.

The Fed Government ownes 47% of all land west of the Mississippi River. That comes up to roughly 246 million acres of land.
Isn't a very large portion of that land just desolate areas that are totally unsuitable for development?

If the federal government is going to give up any federal land, it should be given, without any strings attached, to the Native Americans in that area. They should then be allows to develop or sell the land as they see fit.

That 19 trillion includes intragovernmental debt. The actual outstanding debt is 14 trillion. Interestingly, the figure that most matters, the cost of servicing outstanding governmental debt, has fallen drastically. It's only 7% of tax revenues last year. It was 17% in 1995 despite much lower total debt. We totally need to get spending under control, but we are no where near any kind of fiscal crisis. Japan is puttering along fine with over 200% GDP in governmental debt

You know, I would like to help out the refugees with our additional land.... not in the continental United States, but put them in the most isolated wilderness of Alaska with no voting rights. That way we can feed them, keep them alive, and the bare minimum, all while negotiating with the wonderful Arab states on bringing them back there. Maybe we can get Canada in on this and they can help us with the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
I mean why not prove we're the biggest humanitarians in the world and try to improve the Middle East at the same time?

Sure it does. If we cant buy China's products then they fail as well. That's why it won't happen.
I'm trying to follow your logic here but it's like you're comparing apples to oranges and saying they're both helicopters.
Whether we buy Chinese goods or not has no bearing on deficit spending (other than fricking over American manufacturing for damned-near slave labor overseas).
China has no control over whether we fail or not because China has no say-so in the root cause of the problem which is out-of-control Congressional spending (especially on social programs).

Just charge more than zero for estate taxes.
Let the dead pay down the national debt. Trumps tax plan is sweetheart deal for the trump family. No estate tax.
Obviously debt just gets bigger. Trump wants more war spending. :Wave flag here:.

I'm a native. I was born and raised in the US (as were many generations of my family).

The Federal gov't shouldn't own land at all.
