quote:You sure do. You need to justify why your comments matter, otherwise you are just spouting opinions. You certainly aren't making logical arguments, even though you have yet to show how you have a basis for logic in your worldview. Regardless, all you've said over and over again is that I'm spouting "dogma". You haven't shown how it's wrong. You aren't making arguments. You're making assertions.
I don't need to tell you anything about my beliefs to prove yours are bullshite.
quote:Explain where you got that exact definition. I've linked to two different definitions already. Show me where you got that definition, otherwise I'll assume you just made it up, like the rest of your "dogma".
I didn't come up with my own definition for dogma.
Key Features of Dogma
Unquestioned Acceptance: People must believe it without asking for proof.
Authoritative Origin: It comes from an official group, leader, or institution.
Fixed and Rigid: Unlike flexible guidelines, dogma stays the same over time.
quote:As far as I can tell, you have no solid understanding of anything. All you have is your own rigid opinions, which is enough to call it "dogma". You believe something to be true and you are attempting to apply it in this conversation.
But you can't say directly what it is.
Posted on 8/19/26 at 1:26 am to Boom33
quote:So what? You're doing the same thing. You keep saying I'm wrong. That means you believe something as true that is in conflict with what I'm saying. You're doing the same thing you're accusing me of doing, but you're just more deceptive about it because you refuse to say what it is you actually believe. All I can do is show your own inconsistencies.
Because you keep repeating dogma.
quote:And what is wrong with that? It's either true or it's not. If it is true, then you are wrong to fight against it. If it's false, then you are obligated to share what is true, or else you are being selfish, and therefore "evil", at least according to my then-subjective moral opinion.
You keep demanding people accept that the bible is the word of God without question.
quote:If you can show that what I'm saying about the Bible is wrong, then go for it. So far, all you've done is make baseless claims without support, using emotive language rather than intellectual arguments. You think what I'm saying is evil, but you haven't shown that it is. All you've done this whole time is shared your opinion, but without clarity.
You then demand that people treat it as an authority - to the degree of speaking for God as a result. So that you can then demand anything you say out of is must be true.
quote:"Dogma" is nothing more than an accepted truth claim, in its simplest form. I've provided the truth claims and supported them with both scripture and with reason. I've explained how if you reject the God of the Bible that you are left with irrationality, and I'll further show that if you're actually interested in that claim, but I doubt it; you just want to say "dogma" over and over again without having to provide a justification for your own position.
It's not like you are offering actual reason. Could you remotely defend your positions without the dogma? It doesn't appear so.
quote:
Again dogma.
quote:
It doesn't even get the first chapter of the book right. God tells lies, chapter 2 and chapter 3 contradict each other. The order of creation is wrong.
You don't even know what it's saying. here is just one explanation. You assume a contradiction, so you're going to see one.
quote:Where has it been debunked? Where is your source for morality that debunked it? You don't even understand what the Bible says, and yet you claim God is immoral. You don't even know what your own moral code originates from, do you?
And your so called morality has already been debunked. Of which you can only justify as "Because it's the word of God and God can't do wrong". Now you are telling me it's also support for the bible being the word of God.
it's quite bold to claim something is immoral when you don't have an objective standard to say anything is actually immoral. All you are really doing is showing that you don't understand the topic at hand.
quote:All ultimates have nothing more ultimate to appeal to, so at some point, you have to get circular. Try this: try to defend the existence of the laws of logic without using those same laws of logic. You can't, because you need them to exist in order to use them. That's circular, though.
Circular logic and dogma.
But perhaps you need to chew on that "dogma" a bit before you figure out how that fits with your own dogma.

I've never claimed that atheists openly admit to a willful admission to belief in God.
Nice attempted straw man.

I've always explained it as a suppression of the truth and a self-deception, just like in your case.
Nope, you were caught red handed admitting that I am not convinced as opposed to “self deception”.
I’ll keep exposing your deception.

quote:It's not a straw man, and you still don't understand logical fallicies.
Nice attempted straw man.
I said that atheists aren't persuaded that God exists. I was referring to conscious assent. They are not persuaded to mentally (knowingly) assent to the existence of God.
What I've always explained to you and others is that the knowledge of God is innate and suppressed. There is also self-deception occurring to the point that you and other atheists could actually pass a lie detector test that you do not believe in God. However, God has written His law and even eternity on your heart, so you can't help but know intuitively that God exists, even if you do not agree with that in terms of head knowledge.
quote:See above. I didn't admit anything that I didn't already believe and say many times before.
Nope, you were caught red handed admitting that I am not convinced as opposed to “self deception”.
quote:Keep? You should probably find something to start with, because I haven't deceived anyone.
I’ll keep exposing your deception.

Once again guy, I'm just entertaining your claims. I'm not trying to get you to join a religion or anything else. You are the one begging people to share your delusion.
And the reason you can't name my claims is because I haven't made any.
I've only told you why your claims are obviously bullshite and highlighted what you're actually supporting, calling "Just" and so forth.
You are spinning in circles because now that your dogma has been exposed you are desperate to find something you can then attack me on.
We are ultimately left with your claim, "opposition to my dogma is dogma!".
And it's silly.

Yes, and you are arguing against what I believe to be true, so you aren't truly cool with people believing what they want to believe.
I think you've gone off the rails.
You can believe what you want, but that doesn't mean you have the right to act on it.
Your freedoms end when they start to infringe on the freedoms of others.
And if you are successful in taking the freedoms of others, you have consented to have them taken from you. And that is exactly what will happen.

Your ignorance of the Bible shows that you are only spouting your own false understanding (dogma).
I don't need to memorize the bible. I allowed you to speak in your own words.
I would say if you can't point out the errors and faults of the bible, then you are the one who doesn't understand it.

think you've gone off the rails.
During the Islamic Revolution, Islamists and leftists united around common enemies: the Shah, the West, capitalism, and “imperialism.”
Many leftists believed they were fighting together for liberation & social justice.
Then Khomeini took power. The same leftists who helped the revolution succeed were soon after imprisoned, exiled, and executed. They didn’t share values. They shared an enemy. And so the alliance was useful…until it wasn’t.
Iran should be the warning: sharing an enemy does not mean sharing a vision for the society that comes next.

quote:The fact that you call what I believe a "delusion" proves my point. You have beliefs about what is and is not true, and yet you are not justifying those claims. You are calling the Christian faith a "delusion", but haven't proven that it is. You've just spouted your angry opinions like a scorned lover who will do anything to get back at the man who treated her badly.
Once again guy, I'm just entertaining your claims. I'm not trying to get you to join a religion or anything else. You are the one begging people to share your delusion.
quote:You've claimed things about morality, such as that you believe the Christian God is evil. You just haven't justified what few claims you've actually made.
And the reason you can't name my claims is because I haven't made any.
quote:All you've done so far is given your opinion without a justification for why your opinions aren't just your opinions. If they are just your opinions, then they don't really matter.
I've only told you why your claims are obviously bullshite and highlighted what you're actually supporting, calling "Just" and so forth.
quote:We certainly are spinning in circles, because you keep making groundless assertions and I keep asking you to ground them. You can't (or won't), and then make more groundless assertions. You are not arguing; you're emoting.
You are spinning in circles because now that your dogma has been exposed you are desperate to find something you can then attack me on.
quote:I agree that your lack of argumentation has reduced this conversation to silliness. You have no rational justification for what you are saying.
We are ultimately left with your claim, "opposition to my dogma is dogma!".
And it's silly.

quote:Show how. Don't just say so.
I think you've gone off the rails.
quote:You aren't responding to me like someone who really thinks I can believe whatever I want. Apparently I can't believe that the Constitution should be altered, for instance. You have a problem with that, which highlights the inconsistency of your position.
You can believe what you want, but that doesn't mean you have the right to act on it.
And what do you mean by "act on it"? Arguing and voting are two ways I'm currently acting on my position. I witness the truth to the lost, like you, and I look for candidates I can support who fear God.
You seem to have picked a fight for no reason, but just out of spite.
quote:Freedoms under our current government are constantly conflicting. It's why the courts exist.
Your freedoms end when they start to infringe on the freedoms of others
Your "do no harm" principle also falls short of what God would have for us, as I've described before. There are some freedoms that should be curtailed simply because human beings are not to sin, even if such sin harms no one else. Even our country recognizes this to a limited extent and curtails actions that do not harm others, at least not immediately.
quote:Not true; I do not have to consent to having freedom taken from me just because freedom to sin may be taken from others. I'm talking about a truth claim, and promoting one truth claim does not mean I must accept all truth claims. Likewise, if I push for the recognition of Christianity over all other religions, I am not consenting to other religions being recognized over Christianity. Just because that could theoretically happen does not mean I want that, nor does it mean I have to pretend to support neutrality, especially when there is actually a bias towards non-religious ideologies and worldviews, particularly secuarl humanism.
And if you are successful in taking the freedoms of others, you have consented to have them taken from you. And that is exactly what will happen.
quote:You are exaggerating again. I didn't say you need to memorize it, but you should know it well enough to know what you're criticizing. You don't even get basic interpretive facts correct. It's like you've only heard caricatures of the Bible.
I don't need to memorize the bible. I allowed you to speak in your own words.
quote:You assume there are errors and faults based on your worldview. As a Christian, I can take the historic position that the Bible is the inerrant and infallible word of God, and I'm happy to provide the interpretative clarifications that have historically been given to reconcile paradoxical verses and passages, but to think that Christians must assume the Bible has errors is to automatically take the anti-Christian position, requiring Christians to abandon their faith from the get-go.
I would say if you can't point out the errors and faults of the bible, then you are the one who doesn't understand it.

quote:
Once again, you do not have the right to infringe on God given rights of others.
It's not complicated or difficult. You can make up 1000 scenarios, and the answer is still the same.
I think I agree with your first claim contingent upon where/how the "God given rights" are defined. So let's take it for a test drive, just one of the 1000 scenarios allotted to verify.
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." (COTUS 1st Amendment).
If my ancient deity demands I sacrifice the first male child born in my village each year, in your view, can Congress make a law prohibiting me from so doing? Can they infringe on my deity's assigned means of worship and expressed by my free-will to do so? Read the 1st Amendment again; the answer is clearly no.
Maybe your god plays differently than my (hypothetical) deity. Maybe they don't flow-down the same set of rights. But this is the right my deity has given me. Hence, Congress can make no law prohibiting me from exercising my religion. It's my god-given right and don't you dare infringe on it.
FTR, I have 999 scenarios remaining.

It's called murder. All infringements are already illegal and have nothing to do with religion.

I'm basically done with you. I told you previously I had no real desire to debate you. I entertained your claims.
You are stuck on dogma and it ends up causing you to support and say some really shitty things.
Like when leftists accept the dogma that men can be women. Then after that they have to start accepting and believing all this other crazy shite to the point of they can't even define what a woman is anymore etc.
You are no different. You have the dogma that the bible is the word of God and as a result you have to start believing a bunch of stupid shite on top of it. You are so fricked up that you actually try to justify billions of people, including babies to burn in hell for all of eternity with 0 chance of any other end.
You can't even acknowledge the book of Genisis contradicts itself and that God lies because it threatens your dogma. 1st chapter of the bible. Because if you admit that, it threatens it.
I think you are a piece of shite, and you've taken up more of my time than you deserved.
