They’ve instituted a clear backpack policy. Students aren’t happy.

My favorite quote
quote:

"I'm not happy with it. Why are you punishing me for one person's actions?" she said.

Oh the fricking irony...

they need to shut up and deal with it. it's for their own protection. not like it's some onerous sacrifice.

JP had us using mesh bookbags in the 90s they also banned Starter jackets, then went to requiring uniforms around that time

I didn't know the shooter used a backpack.

But you could conceal a gun or bomb in a backpack right? That’s how this works isn’t it? Ban things that may or may not be used in criminal acts to deter criminal acts.

It gets silly.

Don't forget the old gun in a hollow book trick.

Do schools need too ban books too?

Oh I don't doubt that e-books are well on the way.

Way cheaper too. You can produce a thousands of copies with a mouse click.

I wonder if those publishers are passing those savings down to the tax payers.

This will definitely stop people from walking on campus with the intent to cause harm.

Which school official just bought shares in the company that makes clear backpacks?

The schools in central Mississippi have had clear backpacks for several years.

Why should they have to wear clear backpacks when instead we could just ban guns and allow them to wear any kind of backpack they want?

I'll pray for their eyes. They'll be blind before college.

Why are you laughing? Are you seriously trying to argue that books aren't cheaper now when they're digital?

Problem with this is that physical books have been shown to facilitate learning better than books on lap top. Trading off price for knowledge.
