You are an idiot

I was right about the reasons of brexit and Eastern Europeans and you were wrong.

I don't know what your reasons Were, but I thought it was obvious that a majority of the British realized that the future of Great Britain should not be decided by a bunch of unelected bureaucrats in Brussels.

Was that your reason? I'm guessing it wasn't.

I hate that Winston high jacked this thread with his bullshite

But before the vote I was pretty much the only person saying people here want out of the eu due to the mass unchecked immigration of people from Eastern Europe. Winston lead the charge saying it was about Muslim.

Short story I was right and he was wrong.

Parisians are stuck up as frick

That's always been my take, too. I've heard many people say that after visiting there. However, I was talking to a European (My daughter lives in and dates a guy from the Netherlands) and he gave me another way to look at it.
He said Paris is a huge city, similar to New York. His experience was that if you attempt to speak a little of their language, they respond in a very positive way. He compared it to a foreigner going to New York and demanded directions in his own language and what would happen.

It made some sense to me.

Its generally accepted in Europe that English is the common language, if the two parties can not communicate. Ive seen Germans, Spanish and Italians all speak to each other in English.

The only place this doesn't seem to be the norm is Paris. They seem to believe their language is vastly superior and more sophisticated. Run into the same BS with French Canadians as well.

I'm on the metro enjoying a night out in Paris right now. No riots that I can see. Just beautiful Parisiennes.

Most Parisians, particularly younger ones, can speak better English than a lot of people in the US. They just want to see the effort. If they see that you're making an effort, but you aren't particularly good at it, they're start to speak English to make it easier on you. That's been my experience anyway. My wife speaks French. I speak enough to get by.

It's really not a lot different than the US. We constantly have people here say that if you can't speak English, you should get out. It isn't limited to a city here either. Parisians don't take it that far.

Hell, we traveled with my in-laws once and my MIL is the typical American tourist who refuses to even try. She only had one waiter be rude to her. My wife, FIL and I were thoroughly embarrassed though.

I lived in France for a year some years back, and visited a couple of times after that. I never had an issue of safety or rudeness. Out of courtesy because I was not in the States, I spoke in the local language. Somewhat fluent but with no illusion of sounding like a native! It was always well received and people were always willing to switch to English if I was struggling. Paris is (still) a beautiful history with unparalleled history and art. A visit there is on any well traveled person's itinerary.

Now if you want to speak of rude, let's speak of Spain. I'm fluent in Spanish, yet the snotty saleswomen at a dept. store couldn't be bothered to curtail their conversation and wait on me. After that, I decided to switch to English. And Spain is the only place where I was physically attacked. By a group of dirty gypsies, in broad daylight, in front of the royal palace in Madrid. Almost got away with our passports, left my mom's arm black from pinching and scratching. Have no desire to return to Spain!

But it's so enriching to have unassimilated foreigners taking over Europe and America.

Meme I saw said that nom-whites outnumber whites 7:1 in the worlds population and yet white (or formerly so) countries are the only ones expected to welcome large immigrant populations.

What's up with that

I have to agree with the statement about French Canadians. Loved English-speaking Toronto and Ottawa, but not so much the people of Montreal and Quebec. Beautiful sights in Quebec, dirty in Montreal!

Yeah, you don't know shite about Paris. On average they may not speak English as well as Germans, but most do, and in general if they sense that your French is less than perfect they'll automatically speak to you in English.

A lot of young Western Europeans, in general, speak better English than half of this country.

I never had an issue with rude people in Paris the two times I went there. I speak little French, yet all I encountered were polite, or at the least, not impolite. But, I still prefer London.

This was not my experience. They were dicks no matter what I did, and my French wasn't bad at the time.
