A majority of republican voters will figure this out.
I have no idea how it will shake out, but I hope you're correct. I have a pretty conservative circle who voted for Trump twice, and most of them want him to retire.

How would this damage his reputation?
Brawling with Trump during the primaries could be potentially damaging.
Making a carve out just for Ron in the state of Florida by the state legislature could be potentially politically damaging in the state. "Why does Ron get special treatment?"

Love how everyone thinks people should just sit back and let trump have it. He couldn’t finish the job in 2020 and probably won’t again in 2024. That was his window. Sorry.

She is and always has been a joke.
The governor who put the state on the hook for $500 million on a natural gas pipeline that was never going to be built.
She all but killed drilling on the North Slope with her ACES legislation.

No it won't. People are tired of Trump's schtick. This isn't 2016.

What is your timeframe for this competitive game?
Judging by your post, others posting around here and Palins I would say its now.

Once again your concern for Gov. Ron is touching.

Who said no one can compete for the GOP nomination besides Trump?

This is what you and JJdoc have been doing the last six months.
Clearing the field for Trump. "Because it is his turn, again".

Trump insulting him as "Meatball Ron," "globalist," and "RINO" for six months would definitely hurt his MAGA credentials down the line. I think Ron is the best chance to win this time around because I think he can convert some people with TDS (namely, suburban women) that are needed to win. But, if Trump supporters are going to burn it all down if they don't get their guy, I think Ron should sit this one out. He's only 44, he has a ton more chances, though I agree this could be his best one.

I disagree that DeSantis will damage his brand by challenging and losing the nomination to Trump. First of all I think he can win. Secondly it will only raise his profile nationally. Thirdly I think if he loses he will still be the front runner and the party will turn to him anyway.
If Trump wins the primary and loses the general he is done and his supporters are done as well as the MAGA wing will be marginalized. If Trump wins the general election I think DeSantis will still be heir apparent. Trump really doesn't hold grudges in these situations.
DeSantis can't run again as governor so might as well roll the dice.

This is the risk. Most if not all of MAGA is Ron's in 2028.
