Who downvotes this?

Who honestly thinks this guy has the mental fortitude to be a US senator?

Makes you wonder about the collective IQ of the people of Minnesota as well as their maturity.

I'm no fan of Franken's, but he did not steal his seat.

Unless you count being the beneficiary of down-ballot voting in a national election with a historic democrat voter turnout as"stealing."

There's no other way he could have beaten Coleman.

I'm convinced he stole his seat in that election.

"I understand" but keeps asking the same type question.
Spend 10X more time of pontificating then asking a question that no nominee would answer. Half way through the answer. Say he understands and starts pontificating again.
I thought he was a dumb arse as a comedian, but he is hysterical as a senator.
Makes me proud to say I'm not from Minnesota.

Wasn't much of a comic mind either, truth be told.

Well the box full of ballots they found in a trunk after he was down a few votes was the difference. If you think that was legit...then you are right...he didn't steal his seat.

That's what nearly everyone is doing lol. Hell that's what Republicans did when a Democratic president nominated someone. Heck they did it today asking about 2nd amendment cases. Cruz spent ten minutes lobbing softballs so Gorsuch could tell stories about a 70 year old Justice shooting basketball funny.

I'm no fan of Franken but it's disturbing how people on this board and then DU as well so clearly don't even attempt objectivity. Both sides have become so polarized and hyperpartisan that too many just have a circle jerk echo chamber without any contemplation or realization of what is actually happening.

Did not know he's been married for 41 years. Congrats to him, that is an achievement these days. He majored in government at Harvard. While graduating cum laude is also an achievement even at Harvard, I would not equate it to graduating cum laude in Engineering (yes I'm biased).

Yesterday several posters were calling a woman who graduated from Princeton and Oxford with honors a dumb bitch. Clearly everyone here is fricking Aristotle.

Um.... A former reality star is currently President and a former B Movie Actor is the GOP's most beloved modern President (and probably only 2nd to Lincoln in the eyes of Republicans all-time)-- how does Franken's former profession speak to his mental fortitude if Reagan's didn't speak to his?

Franken's a smart Senator I'd put him in the upper 1/4 of current Senators. Guy graduated Cum Laude from Harvard with a BA in Government and it's not like he got in on Nepotism or Affirmative Action.

Hell, given Trump, Franken might be a 2020 Darkhorse.

Lol

quote:

After election night, Norm Coleman led Al Franken by 725 votes, but by time the democrats quit counting, he lost by 312 votes. How could this happen? Voter fraud. If you would merely toss out the 393 convicted felons who voted, Coleman would have won by 81 votes. Actually, there were 1099 questionable votes by felons, but the confirmed cases added up to 393.

Of course, as always democrats were able to count on the dead, who cast a total of 2812 votes for Franken. Minnesota Secretary of State, Mark Ritchie is a partisan who has extremely close ties to ACORN , was supposed to have purged the dead from the rolls monthly, but didn’t and ACORN turned in 43,000 voter registrations. (I didn’t know Daffy Duck and Catherine the Great lived in Minnesota) That brings the fraudulent vote count to 3,205.

To further cast doubt on the election, before a recount was even started, Franken picked up 435 votes and Coleman lost 69. Minnesota has 4130 precincts. Only three precincts reported errors. All three heavily democratic districts and all three showed a net gain for Franken. Now we have 3,709 fraudulent votes.

To be fair, over 95% of our senators don't have the mental capabilities to do their job. I highly doubt most of them read the bills they vote on, or much less can even draft a bill.
