re: Pacific Life gives in to left wing Media Matters to boycott Tucker Carlson

I had a different take until I read the post below. As far as I can tell Pacific Life did this on its own. If they were extorted somehow (as has been the case with other FNC advertisers in the past) that would be wrong. But it seems as if the company is fully owning this. If so, JT is correct in asserting PL's obvious right to control where it advertises.

It just sucks seeing them cave to the left wing mobs

because they would certainly spell that out in their "statement"
I have missed your special brand of idiocy.

One would expect both the timing and the wording of their statement to be different if extortion had been the sole factor forcing their decision.

Right. The business makes a decision, the market discusses and reacts. We are the market. We are discussing the action.
Is that too hard of a concept for you?
No one here said they should be forced to advertise anywhere. We said if they don't want to advertise on Tucker then those of us who watch Tucker won't give them business. That is literally capitalism in action.
The only side that wants to force people to do anything is yours. Stop projecting.

As long as you hold that same opinion when a company does the same to a left-wing show.

Has anyone here said the government should step in and force them to advertise? No. Moron.

A company that will not insure illegals is dumping a show that talks about illegals.

Kafka, thanks for that video link. Tucker lays it all out in simple terms. What’s amazing is his inclusion of multiple liberal politicians statements that are opposite of the current Dem positions.
The Caesar Chavez segment was very enlightening considering the lofty position held by the left.

Pacific Life can do whatever they want, but like Roger said - I'm more concerned with the mob mentality that's been allowed to permeate our society and sway these decisions. It's gotten ridiculous and every company that gives in to them only makes the problem worse.
For the record, I denounce either side pulling this shite - it's just the left that tends to do it more often than not.

Of course, not surprised. Juice has been a dishonest frick since the day he arrived on this board.

David Brock (born July 23, 1962[1]) is an American liberal political consultant, author, and commentator who founded the media watchdog group Media Matters for America.[2] He has been described by Time as "one of the most influential operatives in the Democratic Party".[3]
Brock’s career drastically changed course after he was given a $1 million advance to write a biography on Hillary Clinton. Rather than breaking any news in his book, Brock produced a fluffy piece that was panned. Brock’s journalism career fell apart.
White House visitor logs show that on June 16, 2010, Brock and the Media Matters president met with Valerie Jarrett, once of Obama’s closest advisors.
Media Matters also assisted the staff of Attorney General Eric Holder in diffusing stories that were critical of the Obama Department of Justice (DOJ). DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler and MMfA writer Jeremy Holden exchanged e-mails just prior to his publication of an article attacking two former DOJ Civil Rights Division attorneys for their writing on the New Black Panther Party voter intimidation scandal. Another MMfA writer, Matt Gertz, requested help from Schmaler in writing stories on the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal. E-mails also reveal that the two likely spoke over the phone prior to Gertz reporting on the Trayvon Martin shooting, which was highly critical of the National Rifle Association.
Billionaire George Soros donated $1 million to Media Maters in October 2010.
A super PAC founded by MMfA founder David Brock, American Bridge 21st Century, became more active once MMAN slowed down its own activities (largely due to the anti-Semitism charges outlined below). The PAC received a $1 million contribution from George Soros in June 2012 and hundreds of thousands of dollars from labor unions.
