Whatever you say, Webster.
You don’t have to have the dictionary memorized to see you misuse words. Twice in this thread alone. And, to be honest, my grasp of the language isn’t the best either. If I can spot your misuse of words, perhaps you should re-think how smart you think you are. Just trying to do you a solid and give you the heads up.

I certainly have my faults. We all do. But lack of proficiency with the English language is not one of mine.

That was three paragraphs to avoid answering a simple yes or no question. Just so you could post this? Yikes. From a psychology perspective, it is pretty clear what is happening here.

HAVE you stopped beating your wife
Which permabanned retread ARE you?

Ugh. You bore me. I asked a simple yes or no question and got 4 paragraphs of rambling puffery and no answer. If you think I am interested in your longwinded parsing of your misuse of the language so that you can deny saying what you said, you are sadly mistaken.
Perhaps stick to browsing Facebook in the hopes opposing counsel’s client posted something juicy. You know, some of that high level lawyering.

Sad cliche.
See I answered your questions in 6 words. Took you 6 paragraphs. I bet you don’t know why. If only you were a little bit smarter.

His handling of this COVID mess would normally hurt his chances, but the Dems have helped him by choosing Biden.
Agreed. It's almost impossible to fathom the corpse of Joe Biden being elected President at a time like this. Trump has certainly made mistakes with handling corona but hardly anyone has done much better and it wasn't like the Dems were taking positive actions early on either. This has been a complete systemic failure from top to bottom.

Some think in treatises. Others are limited to bumper stickers.

True.
That being said...applying this term to President Trump, as it relates to the torrent of bullshite emanating from CNN, is laughable imho.

Is there a greater living personification of the Martyr Complex than Donald Trump?

I do not see how any sane person could deny that he does so ... at least “sometimes.” Hell, I agree with Trump that CNN is SOMETIMES biased against him.
Once we agree on these two points, we are simply debating the EXTENT to which each employs this tactic.

Define the emboldened word above please.
I would hazard a guess that our definitions must be radically different as applied to the original post. CNN seems to be largely centered around the oppositional defiance to any and all things positive concerning Trump.

Yes.
CNN, however, as a member of the MSM, takes things to the extreme (2 scoops etc.).
Again, the OP seemed to be commenting on CNN - the "anti-Trump entity,
not CNN - member of the MSM
(even if both can be/are true).

Let’s set aside crapsheets like Gateway Pundit and whatever its Left equivalent may be.
Candidly, I doubt that EITHER Fox or CNN consciously mis-reports FACT with any regularity ... if at all. Both show their biases n two ways: (1) editorial opinions and (2) decisions as to what stories will be emphasized and what questions will be asked.
You and I are bright enough to recognize editorial opinion, but Trump IS correct in assessing that 75% of Americans are NOT bright enough to do so unless you scroll a banner across the screen reading “This Is Just Our Opinion.”
He then proceeds to play the martyr by arguing that clear editorial opinion (against him) is being reported as fact. (He fails to do the same vis-a-vis editorial opinion in his favor, which he instead re-tweets). For whatever reason, large numbers of those who are unable to recognize editorial opinion tend to buy what he is selling ... in part because he IS very, very good at marketing.
As to category (2), I frankly WANT news organizations to choose stories and to ask questions which CHALLENGE the government narrative ... regardless of which party is in power. I DO NOT want the press to serve as toadies for the government. I affirmatively want the OPPOSITE. I WANT the press to be antagonistic to the government.
Two scoops? I agree that it is ridiculous, but I place the blame differently than you ... squarely upon the mayfly attention span of the American public. The 24-hour news cycle dictates that an outlet must not only find stories, but also find stories which will draw eyeballs.
Not a perfect system, but far better than a governmental control of the media.
