It'll be Vance. He's the VP, if it's a successful administration, nobody will beat him in the primary.
I agree with this. The libs see him as a "smart" Trump, which kind of scares them.

Assuming Trumps Presidency is successful and he endorses JD Vance, his hand-picked "apprentice", who would want to take him on?
The real question is who will JD's VP pick be?
Tulsi would be a nice fit

Way too soon to give a shite, but would be shocked if it isn’t Vance.
The other factor is Trump ain’t no spring chicken. As much as I would like to see 4 full years of Trump, in the back of my mind I could see Trump clearing the swamp in the next 2 years and bowing out sometime in 2027 to give Vance a shot at being the incumbent and eligible to run for 2 full terms. A wayward Trump in 2028 could be a liability for Republicans. See the last election cycle with Biden. Unless there is a huge change in the media, every misstep and miscue with Trump will be amplified and not swept under the rug like the sycophant media did with Biden.

Great governor... subpar candidate for president.
So he is an excellent executive of governance but is a terrible candidate to be an executive of governance?
The qualities that make Desantis an excellent governor would translate very directly to his capabilities as president. He knows how to wield executive power effectively and he is a bulldog. He is also incredibly well-spoken.
What he doesn't do well is work rooms of donors. Not sure why that would bother the ground level voters. The truth is that some Trump fanatics cannot get over the fact that he dared to run while Trump was still in the race.

Unless there is some scandal I would bet we see Shapiro on their ticket for pres or vp.

Would support. Would be the most brainpower on a ticket since Washington/Adams.

Why not enjoy the present win and let time and top candidates sort it out as things move on. Picking sides this early only leads to division.

As of today any combination of Vance, DeSantis, and Youngkin would be incredible.

If Trump didn't run again DeSantis would've dominated every primary and caucus.

If not for the Getty family bankrolling him, he'd be a nobody. He almost got recalled... in fricking California
He didn't almost get recalled, the vote wasn't close.
Getting enough signatures to get to a recall wasn't difficult, given the sheer amount of Republicans in the state.

He’s awkward and unlikable, and he is a traitor.
If the stock market is able to stay relatively high, Vance wins running away. If there is a significant pullback, Reps aren't winning anyway
little heels up Ronnie fricked himself

I'm not sure if I see either one of these take a VP slot in 2028. Obviously not Vance since he's already one, but DeSantis would maybe opt for a relevant cabinet position or US Senate run instead.

Dems will have some internal fighting on whom to get behind depending on if they keep going far left or try to get more moderate....
Newsome (far left)
Pritzker (far left and money)
Shapiro
M. Obama
Hakeem Jeffries (their B. Obama 2.0)
Andy Brashear
GOP will largely depend on how good Trump/Vance do and the midterms. If good then Vance will pick a VP and to be safe it should be someone independants, moderates, women, can get behind and the left can't easily bash with BS on women's rights, civil rights, etc.
Next 4 years of GOP control is critical and will be impactful long term, but if it could end up being 8-12 years of GOP control then just about the entire supreme court would be GOP picked and maybe 75% plus of all lower federal and appeals court judges. The GOP and its super pac's really need to start putting money into local politics for a real long term grass roots establishment (DA's, council members, mayors, even school boards) as that is were Soros has long been trying to destroy this country.

I kind of agree with that poster's statement.
Being a great executive of a state and highly qualified to be President isn't what the average Republican/conservative primary voter wants these days. Probably isn't what the average Democrat/communist primary voter wants these days.
Most important is that we put forth a candidate who will "own" the other side, especially on Tweeter and one-line zingers in front of TV cameras. DeSantis apparently isn't good enough on that end.

Don't sleep on Jared Polis, Governor of Colorado.
I think after this past election, the powers at the DNC have to realize that there is a need to stop alienating some of their more traditional conservative/independent base. Look at the shite Fetterman's been saying at times.
Polis, like Shapiro, has shown SOME moderation on issues like energy policy. You can't go running candidates who support nationwide fracking bans and expect to win at a time when home utility and grocery bills keep rising at faster than income increase levels.

Get fricked dude. This is so dumb. I’m really glad Trump won and pushed back the dems. But we don’t have a damn king. Ron thought he could do the job and it was fine that he took a shot at it.
He’s turned Florida into a soon to be 30+ electoral vote cat 5 hurricane of redness for decades with his policies and you’re going to mumble about him being a traitor.

Desantis is the best the republicans would have in the dugout. But I think he ruined his shot by trying to run in this one.
