LOL.

A larger percentage of the populists here will say "frick capitalism" if you frame the issue correctly. I've seen them do it.

So the idea that individuals deserve to keep their capital hasn't existed for thousands of years?

Well frick me then.

Also point out this deflection.

Dem Socialists are a major part of the Democratic party. They are the ones holding the Dems hostage today and is why the "government is shut down"

Try to deny. You cannot.

A whole lot of fiscally retarded people over there.

Had someone try to argue with me the other day that we are about to be in a recession. GDP growth was up 3% last quarter.. wage growth is outpacing inflation. There are literally 0 signs of a recession imminent anywhere.

The issue is people are being taught "capitalism bad!" because it's not perfect. What they aren't taught is that while not perfect, no economic platform is but capitalism is still by far the best and scales WAY better than socialism/communism.

Their ideals would work if we were a country of a thousand people and not much more.

We have over 300 million in our population. Socialism/Communism would cause an immediate collapse if it was to become our economic core.

Yes

That doesn't have anything to do with communism

It’s falling the majority of America quite spectacularly for a long time.

Capitalism doesn't fail people; people fail themselves. If you take out $150,000 in loans to get a worthless degree that gives you no chance of getting a job, that isn't a failure of capitalism.

And there is no other system that gives people a greater chance for success than capitalism.

When people say capitalism fails them, all they mean is they are not millionaires with a G-Wagon living in a mansion when other people have those things. If all you ever try and do is flip fries at McDonald's, then you are not going to have much success in life. But those are personal choices. That is not the system failing you.

What system do you think we use if not a variety of capitalism?

I never mentioned communism although, if you knew anything about the ideals, you would know that socialism was always seen as the stepping stone to communism. Then your supposed to march all the way to the utopia of anarcho-communism.

Extreme examples like this are just lazy attempts to dismiss the real problems created by the system and those who take advantage of it

What about this system do you think is capitalistic?

We screwed true capitalism once we started strangling competition through the use of patents and copywrights.
Nowhere in capitalism does it say we have a central bank. That is actually a bedrock of communism. Capitalism actually encourages competing currency.
We finally killed it with income tax, dictated charity through social programs, and even corporate welfare.

All of the above were put into place by none other than the Democratic party. Seems they have been killing capitalism since day one. I wouldn't expect anything else from a party that believed a person could own another. They continue that trend today via cheap illegally imported labor.

But yeah, this is all capitalisms fault.

What percentage can accurately define it? Had an Uber driver tell me she was an "anti-capitalist" one time and she couldn't understand why I started laughing...

If you ask these same people if they support the notion that they can own property and enrich themselves from the property they own, what would the result be? Because my "anti-capitalist" Uber driver loved that economic system, whatever it's called...

In the not too distant past, liberals were socially liberal, but strongly anti-communist. Now the dem party has been taken over by the New Left (Maoists).

There is a poster, in this thread, who doesn't seem to understand what it is.

So the Dems basically stand for the have nots and want the government to subsidize them. Talk about lazy and zero ambition
