Those sound like you may not be easy to replace, and you are potentially making someone a lot of money if properly utilized.

Change number 1 to How many people you serve, either with a tangible or intangible product.

Well, you might have the ability to do one monumental task that makes a ton of money for someone. Say a salesperson who has the unique ability to seal a billion dollar deal. Few people served, lots of money made.

Also, can you use your skills to make passive income - as a session musician I’ve moved away from sessions (trading time for money) and moved into making music for ads and film. And other royalty based income. Still do seasons but at the same time all those other irons are making me money.

Nope. They are readily replaceable. If fewer people could do it, the salaries would go up.

I'm speaking from a personal stand. I value teachers on a personal level, so I think they are undervalued by society in many cases. That said, and as I said in my response. You can't escape the rules. They are paid fairly because they are replaceable. It is a bit of a commodity position.

Yes, but how many people would be served by the 1 billion dollar deal? Say it is a few planes for an airline. How many people would be served riding on those planes?

It is the same thing really. I tend to use my wording when trying to explain it to people who have never given the topic any real thought. They tend to grasp "making someone else money"

Not enough information to base an opinion on at this point.

Minimum wage = how much you have to pay the dishwasher to get him to show up tomorrow?

No. There are 3 areas in K-12 that are very hard to replace. Science, Math and Tards. Science and Math teachers are not paid more due to scarcity so they get other jobs. Anyone can teach a tard but no one wants to so the turnover is enormous.

I learned a different wording on this:
'How many people you make happy.'
Drew Brees is a great QB and makes tons of people happy.
The best player in the WNBA is a great BB player and whoever the hell she is makes about 10 people happy so she doesn't make much money.

This works in the entertainment industry. Maybe a few other places.

That is not exactly true. A lot of it depends on how decent your employer is.

I own a medical company.

I pay my billing company, it’s two sisters that are my friends, 15% and the average rate in the industry is 8%.

I pay my sales reps 30% and the average rate in what we do is 15%.

Greed built this country and greed will destroy this country. I pay the people that do the work and I enjoy seeing them and their families do well and have nice things!

If you are cutting the checks, you can choose to buck the rules. There are exceptions to the rules but those are just that. You also see the value in paying above the industry average and likely get a better selection of employee.

Now, if we could just get 11.6M viewers to tune it to watch a teacher grade an algebra test.....

The licensed merchandise sales might still lag a bit.
