Still am, just going through medical issues for 8 years gave me a more realistic view of life, and yalls fairy tales are less palatable now.
If you want to help "hungry" Children, start by creating better parents and end the bleeding heart crap.
If you really want to help kids, a lot of adults will get their feelings and lifestyles hurt. It cant be done by "nurturing."

That is an excellent point. I have spent 30 years working with mentally ill teenagers. Most come from homes where there was poverty, drug abuse, crime, physical and sexual abuse, and neglect. There are things that can be done to meet the immediate needs of children but long term improvement in their lives has to involve their parents.

Yes, 1 in 6, if not more, go to bed hungry in the US.
How do I know this?
I placed food in front of my twin daughter and son this evening. Sausage, green beans, cheese, applesauce. Both ate at least half of what they were given, and left a lot on the table.
I'm typing this at this moment because the daughter woke up and said she was hungry.
So yes, I believe the stat. What metrics they actually used are beyond comprehension.
