This seems to have been the case for a while now.
I went to college back in the 90s and a poll came out that said 22% of young Americans believed the Holocaust was a myth. I remember it specifically because it made headlines and we discussed it in class.

I honestly don’t know.
I do know there is tremendous ignorance of history among young Americans, so that plays a role. And maybe the Holocaust was so bad that some people have a hard time believing it could be real.

It would also help if there weren't such outrageous claims from "survivors" like the claim that Germans made sausage and bologna out of the dead bodies.
Or the brain bashing machines
Or the book by Bernard Holstein that claimed of nazi masturbation machines. He was later proven a phony, and even got a fake concentration camp tattoo!! (Fun fact: the IDF has openly acknowledged Sperm retrieval from dead soldiers... kinda makes you wonder...)
Even the gas chambers claim has significant concerning points.
I don't deny it completely but I'm also sure that the extent of it is wayyyy overblown with decades of ridiculous intel agency propaganda. It's like a game of telephone, the longer time goes on, the crazier the claims get...
