Then you don't understand retail politics. If you are seen as likeable and somewhat competent on the issues, that will take you far. Once you enter into campaign mode, you have to play the game differently. You have to kiss babies, shake hands, eat at a lot of diners and eat the bad pancakes. Smile when you meet and greet....be able talk about UT football or LSU football, things like that.

Talking about economic policy is cool, but you leave the egghead shite for the Chamber of Commerce or the Economic Club of Detroit.

If Tx ever gets as bad off as CA this country is fricked, those soy boys aren't going to do well fracking wells in WTx or the Eagle Ford. Costa Rica or Belize might be looking good at that point, just have to figure if we have a major medical issue we're probably dead lol.
