I’m pretty sure you could post that you think blm is missing the point and no one would give a shite. You’re a nobody.

That's not cool. If you wanted Drew's wife instead of Drew in the fark, you should have gone to the Fark Board and requested it from me instead of changing my original work with my sig on it.

I really do like Drew and understand the pressure he was under. This is going a little too far though. It’s like, “See! See! See how much I care?” Starting to make me cringe a little.

If used to like him. Now he's just a coward. The sooner he's out of football, the better.

Feel so bad for Drew and his family. Because a dickhead reporter set him up with a baited question and he clearly stated his position he is now a puppet to any black person that wants to dominate him.
He abandoned his beliefs to appease his so called "friends". They ain't your friends, Drew. Get over it! They forgot all the good things you've already done for New Orleans and it's people. They don't give a flying f**k about you and your family, really! Take your money, your family and run.....cause now they got you as their BITCH!

Drew has 1 year left in the tank and one final shot at a SB title, he’s going to do what he has to do to keep his team together.

Still not worth sacrificing your personal convictions or your dignity. Brees has done this and more.

The cuck of cucks.

He must have really wanted that announcing gig. I don’t know why. It surely isn’t the money. I understand the horror of having your family threatened but that really should not have been enough to break him. Those kind of threats happen all the time with famous people. You don’t think Kaepernick didn’t get death threats?!?
He didn’t give a shite.
What Drew should have done was retire and walk away with his family. He would have lost the respect of some of his teammates but he would not have come close to being the controversial figure Kaepernick is.
He could have come back and said while he understood players kneeling he just would never do that. It was about the flag contrary what LeBron says. They said they wouldn’t stand up for a flag that represented to them the mistreatment of blacks. That’s okay! It’s not for me.
He should have said if you can’t see what I’ve done for NOLA and the help and support I’ve done for this city and the black population of this city that were affected the most by Katrina.....you can kiss my arse!
Now his teammates that he offended and now supposedly is back in their good graces....they’ve lost respect for him. They’re glad he recanted and apologized but it’s a double edged sword. They also, inside, lost respect for him for caving and now seems to be groveling.
He’s lost the team but doesn’t know it. It wasn’t worth a Super Bowl run. If he didn’t have a ring already it would be somewhat understandable. This move wasn’t worth it.
A majority of his most ardent supporters and done with him. The others that broke him hold him in disdain.
I truly feel bad for him and I still like Drew Brees a lot. I will always be grateful for what he’s done for New Orleans. This entire situation is very sad.

I'm curious to see if he'll kneel during the national anthem. If so, i'm done with him. If you supports others right to kneel while he's stands for the anthem then he has stood by his beliefs. If he kneels, he's lost all integrity. The shame of it is guys like Jenkins and Kamara, etc...are laughing at him behind his back. As far as the black college football hall of fame, didn't BLM just destroy the college football hall of fame in Atlanta ? Are we headed to segregation again ? We're either going to segregated or not, which is it ?

This just sounds like stereotypical angry white guy. I know because I'm not immune from that. I'll say that up front.

But have y'all really never chosen to apologize for something in order to mitigate the consequences of something dumb you said or did? I'm sure you have and there's simply nothing automatically wrong with it. And if you have I trust you weren't castigated publicly and your wife or significant other made the subject of black gang bang memes. I certainly hope that didn't happen to anyone here.

So, I could be wrong, but from what I understand Brees did not denounce his initial opinions that caused the stir. I believe he merely said "sorry for being a bit closed minded about the subject." And that he'd study up on the matter. I think it's safe to say he and his wife had their reasons, including but not limited to mitigating death threats directed at his family and as I understand it, specifically his kids.

So end of the day, perhaps this has been a touch overblown and nasty digs at he and his wife are misplaced. I say that generally, not directed at anyone specific.

Exactly what did he say that was dumb? That he respects the American flag? And you think that deserves the reaction it caused?

I don't really think he said anything that was dumb per se, not the content. Maybe just perhaps the choice to go public on this subject matter in this environment. Because the risk is, well, exactly what we saw. And no, it didn't deserve the response it got, but the response came anyway. Which he had to deal with, like any good man and father keeping his family and children at the forefront of his decision making process.

He was ambushed with a question from a reporter. He gave what to any reasonable person was an innocuous, inoffensive answer. Unfortunately, we’re not dealing with reasonable people here.

I guess he could’ve taken the coward’s way out and just gone with the old ‘no comment’. But then he’d have been crucified for that.

Yeah well, looks like the herd opinion is that he is a coward, sooooo....

I for one do not think he is a coward. And let's take the portion of my initial remarks about "dumb" out of it. Maybe that wasn't the best description. But that portion was by far not the point of the entire post. You will note that I said he apologized in order to mitigate what was coming at him and his family. Far from the herd opinion that he's a coward for going back on his initial opinion.

Drew needed to partner up with Aubrey Huff instead of BLM. Not even the brutha’s believe his fake conversion.

Because he caved and didn’t stand by what he said.

Not only that, but he didn’t just leave it at a simple explanation/apology. Initially, although I thought he was wrong to do it, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

But no. He had to grovel. Then he got his wife in on it. And it shows no sign of ending. It’s pathetic.

Look, if you find it difficult to give up your fandom of the guy for whatever reason, then that’s fine. You do you.

But if you can’t understand why “the herd” has lost respect for him, then I don’t know what to tell you. I can all but promise you that the mob he’s so obsequiously kowtowing to doesn’t respect him any more than the rest of us do. He’s a man without a country now.
