I mean we did defeat the Taliban. They were essentially eradicated in Afghanistan and no longer a threat. Afghanistan had elections and was becoming a country the could take care of itself. We couldn't stay there forever and it isn't a loss for the US that the Afghan military completely crumbled and couldn't hold on to their country.

On Monday, White House envoy Steve Witkoff sent a list of amendments that focus on inserting the nuclear issue back into the draft text, per source with knowledge
The source said one of the amendments included a demand that Iran commit not to try to move any enriched uranium out of its bombed nuclear facilities, or restart any activity at those sites, as long as negotiations continue

Your ignorance is amazing.
This two statements are so shockingly imbecilic that I am going to have to leave this thread and reevaluate my view of humanity!

Oh please, spare me from another round of "negotiations" with Iran. How many times does Lucy have to pull up the football in negotiations before we stop trying to kick the ball?

Then hear Trump tell declare nobody is even sure which one currently has the role of Lucy.

Not sure you understand how ridiculously stupid your argument is for the USA attacking Iran.
Who is the “cannibal”? It is not Iran. That would be the country in the Middle East that cannot get along with its neighbors. That would be the country in the Middle East that steals land from its neighbors. That would be the land that has snipers on the border that shoots children in the other country. That would be the land that corrupts US politicians with money, and if it cannot buy a politician then they buy their opponent.
Israel is the cannibal.
So you think Israel can't get along with its neighbors. I am pretty sure Iran has been attacking its neighbors daily for years. Hamas, Hezbollah, yemen etc.
Steals? Israel GAVE away land.
Snipers kids! Is that code for lobs missiles into Israel every day and forces civilians including kids to be there when Israel fires back at the launch locations. You know AFTER Israel informed the people there do leave so they wouldn't be collateral damage?

CNN source on Iran nuclear talks:
Iran remains deeply distrustful of the U.S. Tehran says talks could resume if port blockades are lifted and the Strait of Hormuz is fully reopened. Iran is still unclear why previous talks in Pakistan collapsed.

That's like saying a burglar is deeply distrustful of the armed homeowner. A pedophile is deeply distrustful of the child's father.
This is the part where CNN pretends the last 40 years never happened and spins the regime as the victim whose good nature and trust has been betrayed.

It CAN get worse economically. That will be the beginning.

Nation building doesn't always fit our vision of government and elecltions.
The Afghan military collapsed because Biden's crew of Marxist hens decided to bug out in the middle of the night and removed the airpower they were trained to depend on from the equation. Dumbest withdrawal ever.

Taliban could cross the border into Pakistan easily. Pashtun tribes straddle the border and freely come and go. Astan is not that governable outside of Kabul and never really has been.
The military was trained to call in for air support. We stopped any air support.

Lots of good will come of this war. It made countries speed up oil export options. It pushed their hands because most sat idle under the threat of Hormuz being closed.

Great maps here showing the UAE's oil fields, geography, and its west-to-east pipeline, the Habshan-Fujairah oil line.
Map 1: Note the fact that UAE territory extends to the eastern side of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital reality which provides an ability to bypass the Strait.
Map 2: Note the pipeline, which runs 252 miles across the eastern half of the country.
The Habshan-Fujairah line has a nominal capacity of 1.5 million barrels per day. But the UAE points out it can carry as much as 1.8 million/day in special situations.
The line has been carrying about 1.3 million bpd in recent weeks, scaled back under the yoke of OPEC+ quota system.
As of May 1, the UAE will be able to ramp that up to export an additional half-million barrels of crude each day, enabling it to take advantage of the current high price environment while other Persian Gulf states are forced to scale back and even shut-in their production.
We should expect the UAE's next move to be doubling or even tripling the capacity of this vital artery to enable it to bypass the Strait altogether, thus robbing Iran of any ability to disrupt its future exports.

Sigh
Yall still don't get it. There were multiple reason for the cease fire. NONE of them had anything to do with peace.
Reset the war powers act.
Provide better air defense for SA and UAE, Israel etc.
Rearm
Resupply
New rounds of intelligence.
Let the misery take affect inside Iran (IRGC)
So division by saying we are talking to people in Iran.

Good grief, if they are not armed by now its too late. They should have been armed the week of mass protests 3-4 months ago.
