If I had to guess, either: 1) US-Iran are actually close to making a deal and Trump is pushing them rhetorically to finalize it today, and/or 2) Trump will let the Pentagon lead a planned (and legal) operation and he is dealing with the media part of the deception campaign.
Trump isn’t coming up with bombing power plants and bridges on his own. Instead, he has likely been given several options by top brass that have already been war gamed to ensure a decisive outcome.
What comes next has already been war gamed and rehearsed using the MDMP, which culminated with commander choosing the best COA before issuing the Operations Order to subordinate units.

For 10 years the left has been frothing at the mouth that Russia is evil incarnate and Trump is their puppet. They even constructed an elaborate fake dossier to prove their point, and used it to deny an election outcome and bring impeachment hearings agains the president. Then they supported a catastrophic proxy war against Russia in Ukraine, where the US had zero national interest, and once again accused Trump of being Putin's puppet when he threatened to end US support.
Now, when the US has a legitimate national security interest in a conflict with the radical Islamic regime in Iran, the left has forgotten all that and takes sides with Russia's (and China's) puppet terrorist state. And our most steadfast ally in the entire region has become the new evil overlord that pulls Trump's strings and makes him dance.
The contradictions seem to defy all logic, until you start to wonder who's being manipulated.

The strait is open. Shippers are just afraid to traverse it because Iran hit a coupe of big ships. So just the Iranian threat is keeping the shippers at bay.
Now lets look at Iran's rail, bridge and power plant network.
US/Israel will take out a couple of Iranian power plants and bridges tonight. And then threaten to take out more if Iran fails to capitulate. At that point, Iran will understand that the threat to take out more plants/bridges is very real. They will then capitulate. Just like the shippers in the strait.
Sit back and watch...

As far as what they are showing on TV, it looks like the human chains are far enough away from the plant and transfer limes that they might not even be injured in an attack.
