IRGC safe havens are disappearing.
In Mashhad, the Imam Sajjad mosque was reportedly being used as a base for Basij forces. Over 200 IRGC-linked personnel are said to have been eliminated in a targeted strike.
For years, the regime hid behind civilian sites like mosques, schools, and public buildings.
That shield is gone.

The UAE stands as a strong partner of the United States. No ceasefire with the Islamic regime in Iran. Not now. You don’t negotiate with terror. You end it. The UAE stands firm. Zero space for terrorists. Germany, Britain, Spain's governments say they want a diplomatic solution with this terrorist regime. Fine. Let it be your neighbour. Take its leadership, as you did with the Muslim Brotherhood. Give them citizenship. They are all yours.
If you want the rubbish, take it but don’t ask us to accept it or live with it. It stinks. You can have it. Live with it alone.
This Saturday will not pass quietly. It will be marked. It will be remembered.

Many of the 13 military bases in the region used by American troops are all but uninhabitable, with the ones in Kuwait, which is next door to Iran, suffering perhaps the most damage. Six U.S. service members were killed in a strike on Port Shuaiba that destroyed an Army tactical operations center. Iranian drones and missiles also targeted Ali Al Salem Air Base, damaging aircraft structures and injuring personnel, and Camp Buehring, damaging maintenance and fuel facilities.

According to CNN, citing sources with knowledge on the matter, Iran is increasing efforts to militarily reinforce the economically and strategically important Kharg Island. Sources tell CNN that Iran has reinforced the island with larger troop formations, antipersonnel mines, man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), and other defensive measures, as CNN reports that individuals in U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s circle have highlighted these measures as potential reasons why a ground operation to take the island may be costly.

If so we can always just flatten it with carpet bombing.
I am sure the island is under 24 surveillance.
If the US controls the strait they also control Kharg oil exports because the uS navy can dictate what ships come and go from the Gulf. So you really don’t have to control Kharg so maybe you don’t risk damage to the infrastructure there by invading.
May not want troops around a lot of stuff that goes boom like oil and gas.

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan renew their condemnation in the strongest terms of the blatant Iranian attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of their sovereignty, territorial integrity, international law, international humanitarian law, and the Charter of the United Nations, whether carried out directly or through their proxies and armed factions they support in the region. They stress, in particular, the attacks carried out by armed factions loyal to Iran from the Republic of Iraq against a number of countries in the region, as well as their facilities and infrastructure. These acts constitute a breach of international laws and conventions and a blatant violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which explicitly demands that Iran immediately and unconditionally cease any attacks or threats against neighboring states, including through the use of proxies.

I asked Netanyahu’s foreign policy advisor @FalkOphir why Israel is skeptical of U.S.-Iran peace talks. His answer:
“Well, Iran always lies. We've
we've learned that they always lie. But more importantly, our objective is to remove the existential threat posed by this ayatollah regime. The best way of doing that is to remove the regime. Another way of doing that is to decimate their capabilities, decimate their military capabilities until they get to the stone age.”
