The Islamic Republic spent decades preparing for this war and they are getting routed in every way imaginable. They have no air defenses left. Their navy is underwater. Their Air Force is non-existent. Their terror proxies are hiding. And they are impotently shooting an increasingly diminishing stockpile of missiles in random directions.
The only place where they have had any success is in the alternate reality created by anti-west propagandists on social media. According to some viral posts on X, Russian media, & some paid propagandists, the regime has destroyed every base and winning handily. But none of that translates to the real word. In the real world, regime leaders are being eliminated as fast as they can get promoted.
Their only out is unconditional surrender. IRGC commanders should stop recognize this if they want to live.

UPDATE: A tanker off Kuwait reported a large explosion on its port side, reportedly causing an oil spill from a cargo tank, according to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO).
A small craft was seen leaving the area after the blast. The vessel took on water but crew members are reported to be safe.

Update: the Pentagon announces the “believed to be death” of Chief Warrant Officer 3 Robert M. Marzan, 54, of Sacramento, Calif., was at the scene of the incident on March 1, 2026, in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, and is believed to be the individual who perished at the scene. A huge column of smoke and fire has been seen rising from the naval area in Bandar Abbas, Iran.

China’s propaganda machine went into overdrive as the first U.S. and Israeli missiles started hitting Iranian targets early Saturday. In fact, China’s foreign influence operators started organizing marches in U.S. cities 10 minutes before President Donald Trump announced the operation.
The reaction involved such interest groups with ties to China as the People’s Forum, the ANSWER Coalition, the Party for Socialism and Liberation, CodePink, and, yes, the Democratic Socialists of America (which has begun to co-brand with the PSL), to name only a few. All swung into organizing street mayhem or at least condemning the attacks.

Footage shows a U.S. aircraft striking the Iranian IRGC Navy’s Soleimani-class corvette IRIS Shahid Sayyad Shirazi.
During the strike, at least one Ghadir anti-ship missile reportedly cooked off, launching out of the vessel’s amidships launcher.
The corvette is part of the IRGC Navy’s missile fleet operating in the Gulf.

Dont get me wrong, and lot of good guys there that have been fighting the good fight for YEARS. That doesn't mean they are a good fit in iran for this purpose.
Seems like all the ingredients for a more chaotic situation. Would hate for a messy, multi-party ethnic war to kick off between the Kurds, Iranian regime loyalists, pro-liberty Iranians, and whoever else shows up.
But that may happen anyway. Surely leadership is weighing all that, hence the delay.
