US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Iran: “At dawn begins an economic D-Day — the single greatest financial offensive ever marshalled against an adversary.”
He says the US objective is to “sever every economic lifeline” sustaining the Iranian regime until “Tehran stands alone.”

Sanctions announcement tomorrow will be extremely underwhelming based on how much they are hyping up.

The Stars/Stripes article seems to put the onus on temp/permanent relocation for contract employees completely on the military. But, if Federal tax rules are the same as 1970-2000, there could be a lot of bull s-ittey going on also. Temporary housing cost/many living expenses for a posting in Bahrain would have been excluded from your tax return as income,,,,if you maintained your stateside house/apartment. The idea being a tax payer should be paying for at least one livable property. The problem comes when claiming the exclusion is never verified, and most individuals claim the state side property with it no longer existing. Pretty standard approach. But the real problem comes when the employer expects you to have a living arrangement to return to. Employee responsibility!

A member of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force was killed in an attack in the Shirabad district of Zahedan, southeastern Iran, on Sunday, the IRGC ground forces said on Monday.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guards identified him as Nader Sarani Sakhi and blamed people it described as criminals for the attack without providing any details about the circumstances.

Do these folks take a vow to appear evil in look? There is a total lack of gentleness and kindness in demeanor.

Not a vow, per se, its just being possessed makes them look that way.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said every country has a "defined timeline" to shut down activities identified by the U.S., and that teams from Treasury, State, and the military are meeting with global counterparts to demand action.
Trump is making phone calls to world leaders "with specific request to cease their interactions" with Tehran, Bessent said.

The United States is sanctioning nearly 60 Iran-linked individuals, entities and vessels across its nuclear, missile, cyber and oil networks, while identifying digital assets, technology, gold, aviation and shipping for potential secondary sanctions.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Washington would pursue a “zero leakage” sanctions policy and give countries a limited period to end identified activities, including closing Iranian bank branches. Those that fail to comply could lose access to the U.S. dollar system.

Those other countries don’t care. Look at the Brits. They couldn’t care less about us and the rules. They openly house regime children.

OK, sounds like they have a plan. I hope Russia is included as well. I guess we will have to wait and see.
