War back on?

Trump seems to be fine with letting the blockade slowly do it's thing. I don't think we will see anything pop off on our behalf. Now, Iran, that is a different story. They are still attacking shipping and today's missile launches towards the UAE's maritime traffic indicate they are going to start ramping up their attacks on the GCC's again.

What our response will be to those events? Who knows at this point.

They are going to start something in attempts to end the blockade. They will have to because their supply is supposedly lowering and protest are near allegedly?

It's been the first time in a couple of months that Iran has launched missiles at the UAE. Most likely because they are the only GCC that keeps petitioning us to finish the job unlike Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Early on in the war, when the UAE was getting attacked, a lot of the missiles that were fired at them included technology they provided the Islamic Republic. Essentially they provided the targeting systems that were used against them. I guess the irony did not sit well with them.

The report said these last two both landed in the water.

Not good advertising for the UAE's targeting system.

Interesting that someone on the Iranian side realizes what a great deal Iran was offered through the MOU. He is probably correct that they won't likely get a better deal. He is also right that the hardliners may be pissing it away.

The real question is what comes next if they piss it away.

There are reports now that the Trump administration has informed Congress that we will be sending $206 million to the International Stabilization Force.

Per Reuters:

quote:

In two July 30-dated notifications seen by Reuters, the State Department informed Congress it will provide $200 million for the ?International Stabilization Force's (ISF) equipment, infrastructure, vehicles and operational costs. An additional $6 million would repurpose U.S. armored vehicles to support the force.

It was reported a few weeks ago that the Board of Peace was preparing to petition Congress for more funding. I suppose this could be the result of that.

There are bunch of oil rich, GCC's on the board. They should be able to front a lot of this money themselves since most of them seem to be invested in the Palestinian cause. Don't know why they have to petition the US Congress for a big chunk of change.

Qatar, UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman all could get together and probably fund the whole thing if they wanted to. IF being the big word there.

I mean they've all poured in billions over the decades to HAMAS, the PLO, the PLA, etc.. surely they would want to front more cash than ever to bring about peace right?... Right?

POTUS: "No one has given the Islamic Republic of Iran a greater opportunity to make a Deal than me. TRAGICALLY, for them, they have failed to take it. Therefore, today, I am announcing the MOST CRUSHING ECONOMIC OPERATION EVER TAKEN AGAINST ANY COUNTRY! This will be Economic Warfare and Isolation on an unprecedented scale. Their navy is gone, their air force is destroyed, their military factories are now rubble, their currency is worthless, and their country is hanging by a thread. Today, I am also announcing that ANY country that allows its financial institutions, businesses, airports, or government entities to provide any type of lifeline to Iran will itself face TREMENDOUS Economic Consequences. Oil smuggling, swap lines, cash transfers, exchange houses, ship registries, front companies — It all needs to stop NOW. You know who you are. This will be an ECONOMIC D-DAY, and we need all of our Allies to stand with the United States of America to isolate, and defeat, the Iran threat. These maniacs are on the ropes, and these HISTORIC MEASURES will cripple them and their ability to project terror worldwide. IRAN WILL NEVER HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER. President DONALD J. TRUMP"

ANY country . . . other than China, India and Pakistan because it’s complicated.
