BREAKING
Ships are again turning around in the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC Navy continues to broadcast that the strait is closed, warning that only vessels with Iranian permission may pass and threatening consequences for noncompliance.

Marco Rubio on Iran:
Straits of Hormuz are international waters. International waterways do not belong to any nation-state. This is a foundational principle in the world today, without which the world would be in total chaos.
If, in fact, we accept that you can charge money to use an international waterway because it happens to be near your territorial space, well then this would spread throughout the world like a contagion.
If, in fact, there is now a strait that one country can, or two countries can, or whatever any countries decide they want to charge money for its use, what is going to stop every country in the world near a waterway from imposing the same?
And then we're going to have chaos. So that is unacceptable.

The Iranian system is still led by radical clerics.
That's what it's always been led by, and that's what it continues to be led by.

BREAKING: The IRGC Navy struck a vessel 7.5 nautical miles off Oman’s coast after it attempted to enter the Strait of Hormuz through a route not approved by Iran.
The vessel reportedly failed to coordinate with the Persian Gulf Strait Authority and ignored multiple verbal warnings before being hit.

A cargo vessel was struck by an unknown projectile off the coast of Oman on Thursday, causing damage to its bridge but leaving no reported casualties or environmental impact, the UK Maritime Trade Operations said.
The British maritime security agency said the incident occurred at 2:10 PM UTC about 7.5 nautical miles southeast of Dahit, Oman. “A cargo vessel has been hit on the starboard side by an unknown projectile, causing damage to the bridge,” UKMTO said.
The ship’s master reported that all crew were safe and that there was no environmental damage.
The attack came after Iran’s IRGC Navy warned ships not to use any route through the Strait of Hormuz except those authorized by Iran
Ship & Bunker reported that vessel-tracking data showed traffic on routes close to Oman was continuing Thursday despite the warning.

Hey yall, so I work a lot and don't get to check the news as regularly as I once did. I'm having kind of a hard time getting a handle on a straightforward, mainstream approach to what exactly is happening with this conflict.
Can one of you knowledgeable folks kindly explain this to me like I'm 9 years old, what exactly are we doing out there, why isn't this over yet, what is the objective, etc. As I understood it, it was to dismantle their enriching capabilities which it seems we've done, and for style points we've according to DJT, effectively shut down their military.
Where do we go from here, because I haven't heard "mission accomplished" yet.
I'll hang up and listen.

BREAKING: Iran is pitching a plan where it would charge fees along with Persian Gulf countries for vessels looking to transit the Strait of Hormuz, per WSJ.
Details include:
1. Iran estimates it could make $40 billion per year by charging for security, safety, and environmental services in Hormuz
2. Iran is pitching the idea to the wider Middle East and as far afield as Beijing
3. "Everyone needs to know that management of the Strait will never return to the way it was before," Iran's Speaker of the Parliament said
4. Iran has already set up an insurance firm it says shippers must use to cross the Strait of Hormuz
Iran appears to be preparing for fees to transit Hormuz after the US-Iran 60-day MoU expires.

If China and the Middle East want to let them do it, then go fo it. ME countries and China have no reason to fear Iran, but they want to cave and be weak, that is not our problem.

There's something humorous about them charging for safety and security when they are the ones lobbing the missiles. They are emboldened that's for sure.
