After he said the “whitelash” comment, when he brushed his teeth the next morning, he’s smart enough to realize that millions of people who voted for Obama twice voted for Trump, and that obviously wasn’t the correct answer. So he apologized and did some pieces on that. He followed up with them in 2020, and all doubled down on Trump, much to Van’s sadness (even if Biden won at the end).

Think of it like a trial. If you don't think the prosecution has won after they rest their case in chief then they failed. However, if you don't think the defense has won after they rest then they failed. That's political conventions. You are seeing the best of the GOP right now. You will get the best of the DNC next month.
