That's true of the vast majority of all voters though. I mean, most people aren't sitting around watching the GOP, or DNC, convention. They aren't posting on a political forum, or talking about politics in their normal lives. They only ever see soundbites so it is important to have strong speakers who can articulate conservative ideals, even if they are political neophytes, because the only way to elect conservative politicians and effect change is to get people to vote for conservative ideals.
You or I could get up there and spout fundamental conservative ideals til the cows come home. No one would care, unless you are a much better speaker than I am, because how ideas are communicated is a lot of times just as important as how they are delivered.
ETA: I do a camping trip every year for my birthday. This year it is Thursday - Sunday. I have already told the people I will be with that I am going to be watching the Trump speech Thursday night so they could do what they wanted during that time and I would join them after. Normal voters don't do that.
