I’d guess that you and I voted for different people last November (ETA: maybe not), but I’ve enjoyed many of your posts. Just nice to see someone who appears to want what’s best for the country (although ideas on how to achieve it may differ) and doesn’t see it as a war to be won by exterminating the enemy. Doesn’t win us a lot of points on this board (hence why I haven’t posted here much before today).
Personally I don’t think these hearings are necessary. I think what Mitch McConnell said about it later the same day, from the same building, was enough. It does feel like political theatre and an opportunity for dems to take some shots at the other side and feel better about themselves for it, without really achieving or solving anything.
I agree with you that our democracy was attacked. This was at least an attempt at an insurrection. It, however, was the worst and most pathetic insurrection of all time, and for this to still be dragged out all this time later feels self congratulatory.

you'd think that given virtually everything that was claimed against trump was a lie or fabrication, even quickly forgotten stuff like the 'russian bounties on soldiers', I have seen nothing that proves this wasn't another sham.
